How to improve reputation ?
Hi. I wonder if there is a way to improve our reputation nearly a faction? If so how?
And also I would like to know if there is a way to improve our reputation near an enemy faction (vessels and stations are in red)?
P.S. I'm talking about SOLO. I do not play multiplayer yet for now.
Thank you.

Simply said: Kill their enemies, or do contracts for the NPC you're red to. Both actions will gradually make you less hostile to them.

Ok thank you. But how are their enemies?
And also, in the long run over time, by dint of always shoot the enemies of my enemies, I will not end up being enemies with everyone?
I mean, there is not a way to pay someone to buy peace with an enemy faction rather than simply changing enemy?

I don't think there are set ways to become friendly with everyone. Although I think there are a couple of vets who have succeeded in becoming friendly with all factions by doing a LOT of contracts, carefully balancing for which faction.
Don't forget that EM is supposed to be a realistic game, and it wouldn't be very realistic if you were friendly with Navy, Energy, Miners, but also Rebels and Guild factions. That wouldn't make a lot of sense. Space is a dangerous place.
But I know where you're coming from, don't forget we have all been there and you will learn how to deal with it with practice.

I forgot to ask, how do you know which is the enemy of whom? And who is allied with whom?
For example, the Navy are at war against who, and is allied with who?
And what is the most powerful faction and controls the majority of the space? Basically, with whom should I be friend to be quiet in most systems?

Energy, Miners, and Navy are enemies with Guild and Rebels. So if you do contracts for either of the first three, then you will lose favour with Guild/Rebels, and vice versa. Personally, I think siding with Guild/Rebels is dangerous, as you will end up facing a lot of reds.

Ok thank, i'm allied with Miners and good repu with Navy, but the Energy consider me like a enemy in aquila system. But I do not remember attacking anyone in this system.

It varies from system to system, and what you do in one does not carry over to another; some are invariably hostile from the start, and you need to do contracts for the hostile faction to change this. From post: 151429, Topic: tid=10119, author=MrDionne wrote:Ok thank, i'm allied with Miners and good repu with Navy, but the Energy consider me like a enemy in aquila system. Ok.
Something else. In some stations where my reputation is low (indeed, how do you know which faction owns a station?) is asking me to pay a high price (sometimes beyond $ 40,000) in order to trade with the station and accept contracts.
But the problem is that whenever I leave the station and I return again, I was asked to pay the same ransom. As if the last payment was not recorded. It seems that once the ransom paid, I should be able to come and go for a while right?

Well, it may not be a ransom, but it most definitely is extortion! From post: 151441, Topic: tid=10119, author=Marvin wrote:It's not a ransom, it's a docking fee. Anyone not allied with the controlling faction will often be charged the fee, depending on the overall reputation of the system and the pilot's personal reputation (any pilot with Legend status can dock wherever he likes without paying the fee).

Yes, I agree to the docking fee. But then it asks me to pay $ 45,000 then I just pay them there not even 5 minutes! I paid to the station, I made a small contract for 2 minutes was to bring 25 units of oxygen, and when entering the station to give the goods, it asks me again 45,000 $! It's a bit abused there, right?

I agree to the docking fee. It is like an expensive parking meter or Private Commercial Airport Landing Fee. When ever you take off and Land again at the same airport when you take flying lessons you pay a Landing fee for each practice landing!.....From post: 151433, Topic: tid=10119, author=MrDionne wrote:Ok.

Ah yeah. Ok thank.
Oh and another question (I know, I love to ask questions, you answer me so well!:P ).
The reputation system are independent are they from one another?
For example, if I kill a lot of navy in the system aquila, is that it affecters my reputation almost navy in other systems around aquila? Or it will only navy in aquila who hate me?
I can be very friendly with a faction in a system and at the same time be very enemy with the same faction in the system next door?
Thank.

Some reputations carry over to a close by system depending what the reach of the control of a particular system is!...Probably like Marvin says about acces Gate travel...But I have seen a few where the reputation affects another system that have gate acces but is very rare!......From post: 151691, Topic: tid=10119, author=MrDionne wrote:Ah yeah. Ah ok, but if the reputation in a system is part of a global reputation, why for example in the Sapphire my general reputation is very good, and in the Thuban located just off, I am considered being the worst outcasts?
It seems to me that my reputation in a system is independent of the reputation I have in the other system, right?

Ah ok, so we have the Navy of the Alliance and the Navy of the Federation. And the Navy of Feds dont like me. Now I understand!
It was still apreciated it was stated in the game and put the Navy Federation and Navy Alliance in two distinct factions to avoid this kind of misunderstanding.

M. Dionne;
It may help you boost your reputation in a particular system by buying a station license at one of the hard-wired game stations there. Or, as Marv suggested, build your own trade station in the system you wish to affect. All Energy, Navy, and Miner-faction contracts are somewhat complimentary of each other; especially those between Energy and Navy factions. Take on a Miners' anti-pirate patrol mission, successfully complete it, and it will give you some positive strokes from the Navy folks as well. How much, I'm not sure. Vice once published a "conversion chart" in the Legends Strategy Guide that is quite detailed about the inter-relationships and dependancies of the various factions. DaveK/Incoming may have added a page or two regarding this in his Mercs Manual or the H-n-T Guide, I don't recall off-hand. I've yet to see pilot reputations "transfer", system-to-system or even to "nearby" systems (?).
