Trade console bug

Yesterday I was playing with a newbie friend and tried to give him a tractor and some money using the trade console. Well I clicked on the tractor, I clicked submit and then he was confused and kept clicking the new contract console and then coming back to the trade console back and forth a few times. When he came back to the original trade console the items was still there, he clicked submit (at last) but he didn't get anything and the items was gone. I tried again this time with money and he again accidentaly clicked on the "contract console" and when he came back and clicked submit the money was gone for both of us. Then we tried without going to the contract console and everything was ok. Seems like a bug right?

Next time, have him follow the applicable part of this checklist:

If he does it step-by-step, it should keep him from borking the operation.

Moral of the story, make sure you noob friends can use the UI before you start giving them things. But yes, sounds like a bug.
