...Disney buys lucasfilm, promises new Star Wars movie every two years.

Apparently, someone forgot to tell Disney "It's a Trap," because "the possibility of successfully producing a Star Wars sequel is 3,720 to 1!" Soon, geeks everywhere will be screaming, "Noooooo! That's Not True! That's Impossible!" One fan commented: "It's like millions of geek voices cried out... and were silenced," and most people seem to think that the new movies will take the franchise further "into the garbage chute, flyboy."

While Disney has been warned to abandon ship with the Star Wars franchise, they responded "Evacuate, in our moment of triumph? I think you underestimate our chances," and has said that if "finds [our] lack of faith disturbing." However you feel about this news, know that "this will be a day long remembered. It has seen the end of lucasfilm, and will soon see the end of our childhood memories."

Most everyone has a childhood memory ... and no one wants to see it distorted or destroyed. So keep your fingers crossed that Disney doesn't hire JJ.

Whatever they do with the new movies, they will never destroy our childhood memories. You can always do what I did with the latest trilogy: ignore it.

Yeah I mean didn't they already have a train wreck with the last three? I've never heard of wrecking a train twice

Seriously though Disney can tell more than main stories now. They can license out anime and tell more about the children jedi and their stories. They have so many directions that they can go without even touching the main story. Oh wait they're doing Episode 7... nevermind.

For once Splosives, I agree with you. I won't let the last or upcoming trilogy ruin my love of the original!

As a star wars fan myself, I hope Disney won't water down the franchise and make it too kid friendly. The new movie trilogy has a lot of potential hopefully the novels in the expanded universe will serve as a source of ideas for inspiration but more than likely be something different. If a tv series ever gets the green light, it would be nice to have stories during the knights of the old republic era.
