For the expansion, shader model 2.0 will likely be required as a minimum for compatibility as the fixed function options are finally being retired (due to new graphics effects/systems/capabilities that must be rendered using shaders). So what I'd like to check on is if anyone is still using a 3D video card with the game that does not support at least shader model 2.0. If you are using such a card, please post the make and model. Just about any 3D card made in the last 5 years or so will support PS 2.0 or higher, so it would involve a pretty old machine to lack such support.

Well, in my netbook I have a Intel GM 945, not good and not even sure if it would be capable of running the game. If there was a way to run it even with low fps, I would like to because every year I am away from home for 7 months because of my job and the only thing I have is my netbook. So every year for 7 months I cant play..
Ok, nice try. Now... it\'s my turn....

Maybe you could try a graphic renderer software which use your cpu emulating latest shaders models like Swiftshader or 3danalyser. So you could even play modern games without a gaming GPU.
Beware I found out this tip on Google but honestly as I didn't try myself, you should ask Vice if it is true (and not some kind of malware) or anyone who had already tested this.

Tried 3Danalyser, didn't work. Tried many of its options. Maybe I did something wrong, I don't know, but I got the same message in both cases(with 3Danalyser and without).
The message is : runtime error 1507 Display using 32 bits is not supported by available hardware at line 0. (???)
