Container Coordinates in early stages of I.M.G Quest

Post by AstroZombieDawg »

Been playing this excellent space sim for a couple of weeks but neglected to take notes when I was offered the coordinates of secret container goodies near the beginning of the I.M/G quest. What are they? Also, how do I take in game screenshots? TIA.

Hello AstroZombieDawg, open the control options and it will show what key is programed to take screen shots. I don't remember the default as I changed mine. Hit F3 you should find a last quest message that may have what you need. Welcome to the forum and the Sim. Have fun and hope to see you in "Multi-Player" sometime. :)

I'm in the Olympus system. I'm about 4 or 5 missions in on the I.M.G quest and was told about my first secret then given some coordinates on where to find some containers with special items in them. Next time I'll be sure to take screen shots but for now I have no entry for that dialogue in my quest log. This would be a nice feature to have in future builds of this game - a quest log history. Thanks.

Well, I went to the coordinates you provided & couldn't find a shipwreck. Are you sure this was for the Olympus Prime system? Or is there a special procedure to finding dead ships and/or containers in space?

The shipwreck is on the planet surface.

 Look for a purple dot on your radar. It doesn't indicated the wreck ... it points to a container inside the wreck.

I just went there and it's exact on the spot.
Container inside a wreck.

Make sure you enter the coords correctly.

 But, if the wreck is on the planet, don't jump. Just fly ... and keep below 1200 kps. ;)

Container Coordinates in early stages of I.M.G Quest

Hi guys, I'm struggling with the same thing. There's also a bit of confusion; the news console mentions the 'Glacia system', while I can only find a planet called Glacia, and it's nowhere near the given coordinates.
I have checked the coordinates in both the Saphire and Olympus Prime system, but no luck. Am I missing something here?

By reading the posts above it's obvious that the cargo containers should be somewhere on a planet, but which one? And in which system?

Hi and welcome Red Viper.

If you have found the Glacia Planet, you are in the Glacia system.
You see what system you're in if you open Nav Console (F1) and check your upper left corner.

If I recall it correctly, you are only given the X, Y, and Z coords and NOT the Sector coords SX, SY and SZ.
The X, Y and Z is the position IN a sector, so you'll need to be in the right sector to find it.
Read the messages closely, there are hints of where to go.

Good luck and if you still have problems, let me know and I'll u2u some help to you.

Thanks a lot m8, that was very helpful. I was assuming that all the planets on the map belonged to the Saphire system, never thought of checking it again when close to Glacia. Found those containers now, cheers!

I really, really hate to necro a year old thread, but I'm having the exact same problem. I swear to god I've spent hours trying to find this secret container. I've flown nearly every inch of the Glacia sector, including all over the planet, and I can't find it. Not to mention, the coordinates are no where on the planet's surface. When I enter them into the nav map, they repeatedly take me off planet. What am I missing? I'm sort of losing my mind.

Hi and welcome.

You are most likelly in the wrong sector (X, Y, Z). The coords you get in the message
about Glacia is the positions (PX, PY, PZ) within a sector.

SPOILER WARNING!
To find out the exact coords for this contract visit my IMG Quest help section here:
http://www.evochron.junholt.se/guides/imgquest.htm (Number 6 on that list).

Good luck and let me know if you still have problems finding it.

Sir, I'm not sure if you're magic or I'm stupid and blind (probably a bit of both), but I found what I was looking for. The strange thing is that I was in the correct S-coords; when I read your guide and went and looked at my S-coords, I sighed, rode off-planet, set coordinates which led me to the exact same position it always did...at which point I found the damn things staring me in the face. I must have missed a zero or something.

Thanks for the rapid response and the patience. Cheers!

LOL, I'm probably magic ROFLMAO!;)

Great you got it working. Just keep asking if you have any problems. We have all been there.

That's why this community is so great. No questions are "stupid" and I have never seen
any comments about people asking for things that might be obvious to many players.

Hope to see you out there sometimes!;)
