Hello all, this is my first post on the forums. I played EM around Feb this year and had a little fun, got lost and then stopped playing cos I found something else to play (could of been Eve...no idea).
Anyways I always enjoy doing the merchant thing and amassing vast wealth and have so far got over 150 million from starting out yesterday. I did some mining for the start up money then just went exploring and reading. Now however I'm seeing everything is starting to go up in price like the fuel, hangers, crew pays and station licenses.
Now this isn't a big deal. I got my first station license for around 2-3 million. No biggy. Now I'm looking at 13-15 million for a license at the station next door (not going to do it, just an example).
Should I be worried that everything is going to start getting stupidly expensive like some of you oldbies have gotten (read people having over 800 mill for a license..madness but suppose if it's in line with everything else...).
I just started dabling in Pearl and now expect to be able to balloon my funds into the billions reasonably easily and in a very short time frame, but would it hamper my enjoyment of having to grind hundreds of millions to get that license I want or what have you?
I just worried pretty much that I'm making too much money too early before I know the actual game.
Any insight would be great.

Making too much money too early?
Hi SYrinx, welcome to Evochron!
As your civilian rank goes up so too do your expenses... as you've noted already station license fees go up in-line with your amassed wealth, so to do other costs such as docking fees, building, deploying, refueling, hanger fees, crew wages. It's good to amass a fortune because then you don't need to worry about costs. However, there are some who believe it is too easy to make money in this game and that there aren't enough financial challenges, hence the numerous pilots who are literally willing to give their cash away because they have nothing much else to do with it!

Hey Syrinx,
I wouldn't worry too much about money. It is pretty easy to make, particularly if you are in a powerful clan.
But one of the things that needs some change is the economy of Evochron Mercenary. Only certain commodities are worth trading, primarily because they are a piece of cake to obtain, and sell for a lot. So not only is it easy to obtain money, but there aren't a lot of things that suck up your money.
So station licenses are at least one type of money sink, and i think they get more expensive with your civilian rank, so the longer you play the more money you pay.

My last clan war cost me over 2 billion in cash. I even lost my legend status for a while.
There's definitely some uses for having lots of cash, especially if you have to fund your entire clan.
