Hello everyone! I'm just another spacesuit with an engine and some lasers (pew pew!)

I've been playing Evochron Merc for about... um... a week?

I'm having tons of fun and have been lurking the forum for a bit now. I started off as a combat pilot, got a little frustrated with being overwhelmed in combat, started a new pilot as a merc, did some mining, some missions, some trading, and now that I have a little more experience with flying and combat I'm having fun with both scenarios.

I'm a speed freak, which means I consume fuel. It happens.

I'm currently figuring out what all the extra things do, like the constructor and deployer things. Pretty cool!

I'm afraid to enter MP. I see a few different servers being hosted when I log in buuuuut... yeah it just seems like it'd be easy to have someone send my computer diseases and mayhem.

Anyway... yeah. HI!

Hi and welcome.

Do not be afraid of joining MP. Very friendly and helpful players out there. More fun to!
Right click a server to see who's on before joining if you want.

Here is a list of different items and what they do.

That is not how it works.
Your Game client runs on your machine, any other players machines and the server.
The Game connects to the net via a protocol that enables the server to communicate with your computer and vice versa.
The only information transmitted is the state of the Gameworld server side and client side, plus voice chat - should you have that enabled.

You run a much higher chance of infecting your PC by opening websites or clicking on links you dont know, because there you actually download and store information on your hard drive with every click, whether you know it or not

So if that is the only worry you have keeping you away from MP gaming, worry no more.
Its about the safest fun you can have online.
