Secret planet in Pearl?????
Can't find secret planet in Pearl!?! Where is it? Coordinates I had read 70000/-5000/-70000. But when I go there, I find no planet...

Hi and welcome.
That set of coords is for within a sector (Position) [Left column set on your nav console]
To find a planet you need to go to the correct Sector coords. [Right column set on your nav console]
I will not reveal any coords here, but I can send you a u2u if you want, or you
can check my map. (Link is in my signature, spoiler warning)

Hi all,
Sorry to resurrect an old thread but is this planet in Legends at these coordinates (along with the sec coords) or just in Mercs. I can't find this one or the one in Cerulean at the sec/pos coordinates but have only been playing Legends.

Both Legends and Mercs have a Pearl Hidden Planet, even Renegades has a few, hidden planets that is. Ya, those look like they might be near-position co-ords fer where yer headed. But, ye'll need the sector co-ords fer the right side of the nav con stack. Think of it as 6 figures to describe a box, 7th figure is yer position/point. Once ye git it, don't fergit to hit the enter key. It sets yer way-point marker. Ye may wanna add it to yer maplog file. Jist a thought.
Oh, and FTR, both Legends and Mercs have all five known unknown planets. Mercs just has more of everything else.

Ok, thx. I had all six coords (sec/pos) entered and rechecked them upon arriving, but just empty space. I'll make another run out and check again, maybe was too tired. Wasn't sure how much data overlapped between the two games.

The exact coords have changed for some things but the overall general location area for those hidden planets are the same i believe.
You may have to hunt around a little to find the same things that were in legends but I am sure its close and relatively near.
I think?

Yep, they're all there. All 5 of the "known" unknown planets, Wolf, Lost Rucker, Andromeda, The Rift, Von-space, and beyond. Most all of the locations were migrated, then moved when Legends became Mercs. And some of the locations have been "turned off" in Mercs, as is the case with Andromeda. You can still get "there and back again". Beautiful scenery, not much else. Lost Rucker changed a bit with the migration. Wolf's still there, but a bit further to get to compared to Renegades or Legends.
How can a Universe get larger? Dunno, but this one did with Mercs. All kinds'a space out there !

When I joined this community (and it really was about yesterday), I have totally hate all this childish mystification of the otherwise anyways already well known things, and found it plain elitist. Just they way to show noobs who the veterans are here.
Today I still am not supporting this movement, yet I can resist of posting the coords here, at least. (accompanied with a long line of very foul language, how tbird calls a common spoken language)

Why we don't post coords and other "secrets" here in forum is to not spoil anything for those
that wants to figure out stuff for themselves.
We (at least I) always send a u2u with help if the pilot want it.

I understand the reasons why it is not posted. Those who want to find out themselves could not resist clicking [+Spoiler] BBcode tag, if this forum supported it.From post: 138767, Topic: tid=8823, author=SeeJay wrote:Why we don't post coords and other "secrets" here in forum is to not spoil anything for those

it is not about "resisting", but if you just "read" is enough to breack the charm
those who wants help in finding things should better use EM Tool and EvoMetric, with those both tools you can cross large blank pieces of space and keep playing hours outside "gated" systems.. they also help about "thinking/seeing" better about x/y/z global and local navigation...

Wasn't going to post this as it is so long winded but did anyway. Sorry in advance...lol.
I'm not sure how this got turned around to the morality of spoilers. Some things yes, I like doing for myself, others, not so much. I spend a lot of time crunching numbers doing building automation, hvac control, energy management, etc. so I'm not so interested in doing a lot of tedious math when I'm kicking back with a game. If tools have been developed for these things I'm fine with using the tools. Spending hours in search patterns looking for planets isn't really my thing either. If that was all this game had to offer I surely wouldn't be here. I also have no problem with folks that do want to do those things, thats all part of the variety of life. This game exhibited quite a bit of variety as well, thats one of the reasons I bought it. So after kicking around space a bit I decided to kick it up a notch and look for a few shortcuts, thus I have visited the Junholt site and nabbed onto a couple items.
Ok, with that being said....
Two hidden planet locations (Pearl & Cerulean) to be specific is what I nabbed among other things because for the life of me I haven't been able to find a mantis drive and thought maybe a hidden planet or two might help. Problem is, when I get to the coordinates there is no planet. Even if I were off a bit, the planet would be visible. I went back and was very meticulous with putting in location, getting ship pointed in the right direction before engaging auto-pilot, etc. and both locations came up empty - no planet. I did happen to notice on trying to find Cerulean's hidden planet (a third or fourth time...lol.) that I would go from Cerulean space to Unknown space. Is this usual?
I know I must be missing something or doing something wrong but haven't been able to put my finger on it yet.

A mantis drive shouldn't be that hard to find? Could try around Oasis in Pearl, Vega, or Atlas.
I am not sure though, the SP game can be quite different in many ways
Junholt site map should be right. I don't know why It wouldn't be there?
The map is for Evochron Mercenary, It wont be right for Evochron Legends or earlier games.
I believe the hidden planets are all in Unknown space. There are pockets of unknown space all around the place.
I don't mean all the uncharted planets in unknown space. Just those few "hidden" ones that were originaly in previous games.

Secret planet in Pearl?????
Aries, Cerulean, Deneb, Pearl, and Virgo - each have one of the 5 known "unknown" planets. The Legends Strategy Guide published these co-ords for all to use in Legends. Yes, they were moved when they were migrated to Mercs, just a touch further "away" from their locations in Legends. Have always been a BIG fan of R.T.F.M - Read The Furnished Material. So much so, that for both Legends and Mercs, I created my own "book" and have used an ephemeris crafted from the Legends universe.dat file and other info-sources. Inclusive of SeeJay's offerings and those blurbs gleaned from this forum. And yes, all of the "hidden" planets, per se, are listed in either Unknown space, or are a part of the system in which they're located. Now, since the burden of unmitigated social onus falls upon one who blithely publishes these co-ords in the "clear", the "Spoiler Alert" has been used, either as a blatant tip-off or a red herring, take your pick. Trying to maintain a "pristine" posture, in re: spoiler info, has been viewed by most in my experience, as a "necessary evil". I have had a couple of instances where some new chum unequivically demanded that I give him/them co-ords for their heart's desire, be it a Mantis drive, a Starmaster frame, or a "short-cut" to Sol. And, in one particular instance, they demanded that I give them a copy of my profile so they could have a Starmaster frame. I absolutely and categorically refused. A little later, the rube was brash enough to do a fly-by with his "new" Starmaster frame, having successfully intimidated someone else. He really didn't, and still doesn't, understand the ettiquette required of one when playing in another's sand-box, with anothers' toys. So, one may wish to consider their own position when it comes to "freedom of information", especially where this game universe meets the tarmack.

No, I haven't started the IMG Quest just yet but most definitely plan to. I wanted to free-form for a bit first - had a couple of objectives I wanted to accomplish first, most of which I have at this point and then jump into the quest line and I do look forward to it. Mainly the mantis drive remains, which I'm thinking I may blow off looking for and find it when I find it while doing the quest...lol.

If you can jump online in one of the servers,
you may find it easier to come across items like the Mantis drive.
People often upgrade the tech level with player built stations. Things are sometimes easier to find.

Thanks, I'll bum around this area again for a bit.A mantis drive shouldn't be that hard to find? Could try around Oasis in Pearl, Vega, or Atlas.
I remembered reading these but it was giving only the sector co-ords so I dismissed it at the time. Looking at it now I see the sector values are a bit different from the ones I was using for the resent trips. Had I recalled these values as being different than the ones in the Junholt info I wouldn't have made the post. It was obvious that what I was using was for Mercs. It was difficult, for me anyway, to distinguish at times what info was relative to one, the other, or both. Time to head back out. I figured it would be something simple and obvious. The Legends Strategy Guide published these co-ords for all to use in Legends.
I hope I'm not coming across as demanding of info, I was just trying to verify that I was interpreting the info correctly, which in this case I wasn't and believe I now have clarification and can move forward. I do try to work things out myself for the most part but either am short on time or patience that I do look for shortcuts from time to time. But as you mention some people basically wanting the end game from the beginning I don't get, what's the point of playing then. Didn't mean to create such a stir.
