I'm a relatively new player, just got into EM about a week or so ago and I'm absolutely loving it, it's the space game I've always wanted. My friends and I have been playing on the Horizons server with the clan tag [BFFS]. Say Hi if you see me!
Anyway, I wanted to share something I made for myself. I work on mobile games so I use my iPad quite a bit. Being a relative newbie to EM, I wanted to have a nice map that I could display and zoom into on my iPad for reference. I spent a bit of time designing some large maps (2048x2048px) in the new iPad's resolution. I made versions with and without a grid.
Hopefully someone here can get a use out of having these on their tablet, phone, second monitor, whatever! Enjoy!
I really like the clarity of this set so I reduced the size to 1024x1024 and reduced the no of colours down to 24K to reduce the file size (now around 200K) and saved then them into the HUD folder in the main game folder of my PC (map, mape & mapt). They appear in the navmap screen a treat - still very clear and sharp!
Thanks for sharing!
ps - just on the quadrant map I coloured the hostiles in red and the safes in green - not quite as cool , but I like a reminder of where I need to keep an eye out!

Nice pics. Is this an app for the Ipad/Iphone? (I don't have any of those myself).
If it is and you know programming, you might want to connect it to my online DB of the universe? (If that is possible).
Just a thought to get all systems found into that map.

You need to rename the maps before or after you save them. The correct names are shown on the site page. Sorry for the inconvenience but my website creation programme gives all uploaded files strange names!
It is part of my personal webspace so please respect it
EDIT - tidied up instructions
