So I discovered this interactive map at http://evochron.junholt.se/, and noticed one thing - it appears to be incomplete. I was on my way from Sapphire to Sol on inertial, and came across a sector (or cluster of sectors) called T888, in between the starter place (forgot the name) and N769. Is the map still being updated? I could not explore the region as it is massive and my mission can only succeed if I stick to my strict calculations (fuel consumption, mostly).

or vice versa and may not have been fully explored
i saw no reference to t888 on the new map

T880 is a planet in Thuban
T888 doesn't appear in any searches - what coordinates were you at?
SeeJay's leisure activity seems to be star hunting. He does update the map in Evometrics from time to time though and welcomes reports of any uncharted stars
The system name notification in the nav map is sometimes actually a planet in the system - move to a different place and the notification can change to the start name. Technically what is shown is the nearest "authority".
Some of the bigger systems have several sections - a clan could build the max 50 stations in a section and a different clan could build another 50 in a different section. This caused a lot of Clan grief in the past because the overall system can only have one owner!
:P Olympus is a good example of a multisection system.

Good thing I am insane enough to fly manually for 50 days straight, huh. Sectors encountered so far in sequential order: Sapphire, T888, N769, M368, V577, Y974, O414 (or Q414, can't read it...), T215, C439.

So far I've flown through 1553 sectors, that's from 0,0,0 0,0,0 to -224, 3, -1553.From post: 135224, Topic: tid=9187, author=Austin wrote:Wow, lol... so how far out are you still?
Almost 33% of my journey is complete. After that I might try for Andromeda.

This sounds interesting, are you doing 1 burn to get to velocity and then 1 to slow down? How fast are you going? From post: 135267, Topic: tid=9187, author=MentalParadox wrote:So far I've flown through 1553 sectors, that's from 0,0,0 0,0,0 to -224, 3, -1553.From post: 135224, Topic: tid=9187, author=Austin wrote:Wow, lol... so how far out are you still?![]()

The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair.

Way to go Mental! I really didn't think you'd keep at. I've only made the journey from Sirius myself and that seemed too long

I've made the Sol run like this too but I think MentalParadox isn't jumping but drifting from Sapphire to Sol on Inertia Mode. From post: 135322, Topic: tid=9187, author=DaveK wrote:46 mins with a big fuel tank (2000+) and a Mantis Drive - time to make a coffee, drink it and have a pee! From post: 135285, Topic: tid=9187, author=Austin wrote:Way to go Mental! I don't use a "drive" of any kind. I accelerated up to 4500-5500 using afterburner, then went inertial. 1919 sectors cleared so far. I have a 3600 fuel tank. I still need fuel because I log off every 20 hours to let my computer rest for one hour and to play something else for three hours. The game does not save your vector, or velocity - so I need gas to re-accelerate every time I log back in.

You people wouldn't believe what I've seen.
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.
I've watched C-beams... wait, wrong fictional universe.
So far I've crossed 3724 sectors, and 20 named areas. I have passed Orion, and am now on the home straight to Sol.

So traveling from Saphire to Sol on inertia at speeds of around 5000 will take you about half a year real time?
That is relatively short compared to if it was a real life time simulation!....
