Andromeda quadrant

Post by Cheri50000 »

Hi, guys!

After I fly to sol. System to look around and refuel, I'm planning on flying to Andromeda. Is Andromeda a safe system? I think the Andrmeda's coordinate numbers is SX 2,000, SY 0 and SZ 28,000. Thanks!

Cheers,
Vincent

Yes, it is safe and has no rating at all and not much is known about it since it is a different Galaxy!......;)

No, it's just another system.

It's quite pretty, but you can't see the milky way - or atleast I've never noticed the skybox containing anything that resembles it.

 Also, don't mistake the nearby black hole for the Milky Way. Getting too close can lead to undesirable consequences.

Hi, guys!

I'm not 100% sure, is there any space stations in the Andromeda system which I'm flying to right now? Thanks!

Nah, none that I've come across. Just a few cool sights and secrets :)

There is a quick way back to Pearl though.

Hi, guys!

I'm planning on flying to the Andromeda quadrant later today. Does the Andromeda quadrant have any space stations? Thanks!

There are no trade stations in Andromeda. There is however an alien artifact floating peacefully near an asteroid field there. I suggest you equip a large fuel tank, and take with you a tractor beam :) If you plan on going the looooong way, take a deploy constructor too so you can refuel in deep space. good luck!

Hi, Nova_solo!

Thanks! It's going to take about 100 days or little over 3 months and I'll be at the Andromeda galaxy about around middle of June of this year!

Cheers,
Vincent

Hi, Nova_Solo!

How to refuel in deep space using the deploy constructor? Thanks!

You'll need a LOT of cash, especially if you take the long route. With the deploy constructor, you can build a fuel processor which turns energy into fuel, but it costs money to build one. Keep in mind that the energy to fuel ratio is low, and refuelling a large tank (2400+) takes quite awhile to accomplish. considering the distance you need to travel, I think it's about 28000 sectors on the sZ axis, you'll need to refuel at least 12 to 15 times. Just remember to turn on inertia mode while on autopilot to keep fuel consumption to a minimum. And be sure to double profile save! Have one profile saved just before you begin your journey, then save into a new profile slot and use that profile to track your journey. Best of Luck!:P

~SPOILER~ kinda

use the gate network, wormholes and blackholes to get to andromeda in no time, bring tracter beam or deploy constructor. you cannot build stations there

Hi, Nova_Solo!

How do I build a fuel processor using the deploy constructor? I got a 4,000 capacity fuel tank and a cash of 8,000,000. Thanks!

  • Put the deploy constructor in one of your equipment slots.
  • Come to a full stop.
  • Click on the Deploy option (upper HUD, right side).
  • Select Fuel Processor.
  • After the fuel processor is deployed, fly to the center.
  • Come to a full stop.
  • Press the " ] " key (right bracket) to increase energy output.
  • Monitor your fuel gauge.

And i would say not to use autopilot....

Recently i had planned to go from a hidden system a bit north of Cerulean to the Wolfzone, had calculated the fuel needed, had enough so i se the navpoint and put on autopilot on inertia. For some reason, it turns out my autopilot used a little fuel everytime before warping , i'm not sure why, it seemed to straighten the ship a little every time it warped but i hadn't noticed because i'd taken my headphones off to do other things (otherwise i'd have heard the engine). It had for result that i lost more than 100 fuel units from this. What happened is that i ended up being out of fuel about 18 sectors to my destination. Thankfully i had a saved game halfway through the trip so after reloading i did all jump manually and managed to make it with about 20 fuel units left (because half the trip there auto had wasted fuel other wise i'd have had at least 150 left)

Just grab a deploy or build constructor and use the auto pilot, gas is cheap!!! :D

Yeah i guess if you're gonna refuel. I just wouldn't recommend it for anyone without a deploy or build constructor and who has just enough fuel anyway.

 Nothing wrong with using autopilot as long as inertial is engaged. Otherwise, the autopilot will use additional fuel to slow down your ship after every jump. Using inertial, you don't come to a stop between successive jumps.

Hi, Bobofet!

The Andromeda is located at SX: 2,000, SY:0, and SZ: 28,000. I hope this helps!
