I have tried installing it to
C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\evochron mercenary
and
C:\\sw3dg\\EvochronMercenary
but the executable crashes immediately after i try to run it.
Any help is appreciated.

Help with installing the map log program on Steam version
Yes I am talking about Atollski's mod.
I understand that you need to make a savedatasettings.txt but my problem is the .exe crashes when it launches I have tried installing everything to just the one folder at a time.

Help with installing the map log program on Steam version
It's the same for me:
Either Map log.exe 1.0 or 1.01 (.Net framework 4.0 was required to be installed for the latest version though) keep crashing when executed.
I've followed the instructions copying and pasting Map log.exe and savedatasettings.txt files in C:\\sw3dg\\EvochronMercenary Folder where maplogX.sw (X = number) were created.
Using Windows XP.

Did you use a maplog file that already contained data?
If so, reinstall and start with an empty file.

I've erased all written data and save at blank the maplog0.sw with no effect at all.
The issue is that the Map log.exe whatever version is crashing immediatly. Some Debug report is produced .
You don't have time to look at textboxes pointing to maplog0.sw file as explained in the instructions.

It crashes if it can not find the config file, here are the support files (map, config, and example savedatasettings.txt file) for Atollski's v1.0.From post: 132215, Topic: tid=9022, author=Munshine wrote:I've erased all written data and save at blank the maplog0.sw with no effect at all.

Unzip and put the files in the same folder as the 'Map Log.exe' file (the 'savadatasettings.txt' goes in the main game directory if you don't already have one set-up [it's really just included for reference]). The config file is set to use the included map grid and use the location 'C:\\sw3dg\\EvochronMercenary\\savedata.txt' so it may work with most installs. Use v1.0 of Atollski's as 1.01 has a map saving issue and can cause problems.
