For some reason the secondary weapon fire control, (to fire the missiles), is not working for me.
I went in to Configure and deleted the assignment to the shift key and the control stick and then reassigned them back but it did not clear up the problem.
The control stick button shows that it is working in Configure, but the missiles do not fire in the game.
I was able to successfully delete and reassign other control keys and buttons.
Any ideas?
Thank you,
Dorn
PS: I replaced the control assignment files in EM with Vice's X52 profiles. I think the missile fire worked before on my old stick. I am running an X-52 Pro now. Everything else seems to be working just fine with the new profiles.

Make sure that "Secondary Weapons" is assigned to the Keyboard Key you want to use and Asign that same Keyboard Key to your X52!
You might have the assignment in the Keyboard configuration and Joystick button configuration wrong!...

Can you post some screenshots of your Key assignments for Secondary Weapons?

need help with a control assignment
Hi Maars,
I have both the keyboard key (left shift) assigned to secondary weapons and the X-52 Pro stick button Device 1 - Button 1 (which is the red button with the flip cover) assigned in the Configure section. I get a green light in the Config on the secondary weapons when I hit that red button on the stick.
It doesn't matter which ship I am in, either. No missiles fire.
Is the Saitek software interfering some how? Should I be trying an assignment there, also?
I am not sure what you mean by "assign that same keyboard key to your X-52".

And what is also strange is that it doesn't matter what key or button I assign to the Secondary weapons, none of them will fire the missile.
So I know my keyboard is working, I know my stick is working, and all the other commands execute whether by keyboard or X-52.
Is there something in game that turns on or off the missile launch? When I select Particle I get the canon. When I select Beam I get the beam. When I select All, I only get the particle canon or the beam, no missile launch.

^ As Marvin points own, the main weapon firing mode is for particle and beam weapons only. If you're using a dedicated secondary weapon firing button, then you'll just need to make sure the missile is locked and that the current armed secondary weapon is one that is designed to fire with a lock (and isn't a secondary 'device' in place of a missile). Once those conditions apply, it should fire. If it continues to give you trouble, please your current secondary weapon loadout.

Oh!
So you can't fire a missile unless you have a lock on a target???
Hmmmmnnnnnnn.... Some how I was thinking I could just fire them off into space. Or at an asteroid or any thing? Just by hitting a fire missile button.

LOL......how obvious it is that you need a missile lock and missiles loaded in your missile slots! But when you try to comunicate with a person and you press Shift to place the first Capital letter of your sentence and you did not notice that the chat box did not open when you pressed Enter, you create enemies in stead of friends!.......

And Happy retrospective LOL to you all too! {smile}.
It was entirely an issue of expectations.
I wanted to watch missiles leave the ship.
It wasn't happening.
I have a great desire to lock on nothing and watch fireworks. How do I do that?
(Hint. ... fly IWAR.)

A full Complement of Fulcrums should just about do the trick. Just make sure you're a good distance away, heheheh;)
