Changing the main quest

I know i've seen things about modding quests and such. Well i was wondering if i can mod the main quest and how. The thing is i completed the quest today (i think they're different depending on the job you take? Anyway, the mercenary one) and i was kinda bummed to find out it gave me 50 milions. See i find that one of the fun thing is to slowly build up your wealth. With 50 millions there's pretty much nothing I can't do now...and I don't like it. :-p Now i CAN not finish the quest (i have a save before i finished it) i suppose but if i can i'd rather finish it but just change the amount of money it gives me (something like a more reasonable 1 or 2 million). Can i do that at all?

I'd ask if i can remove money from my save file (which would solve my "problem") but i doubt you can, otherwise some people would be cheating and giving themselves loads of cash and it would ruin MP....

The easiest way to remove money from your pilot is to first buy a Build Constructor and then start building trade stations. With a couple million ... you might actually have enough credits to build ... one. With maybe enough left over for an energy station. Maybe.

Hmm, can i destroy my own station once built?

I have to say i didnt know it cost that much to build one... but i'd rather earn my way there through trade and contracts than by just being handed out 50 mils for completing a bunch of missions.

also, 50 mil is nothing and well worth the quest reward

For what it's worth, the Quest for Peace doesn't pay out anything in credits. It just shows you a few places you otherwise might never see.

Not for me it isn't nothing. For one i could upgrade my ship to maximum everything with this. I know for long time players this might seem like nothing, but I didn't intend to get there just yet. See this is part of what i like about such games, slowly working my way to riches, upgrading my ship, eventually buying a new one and then another, and another. Considering I've earned at the very most ten millions so far in the game ( at a guess anyway), suddenly getting 50 millions does seem unbalanced to me.

I suppose i'll just not finish the quest for now and wait until maybe i've made it further in the game so that 50 millions will seem like nothing.

What is the Quest for Peace?

Your ship isn't the only thing requiring credits. In hostile areas of space, it really helps to have your own station ... or at least a license. And if you go exploring ....

I know but i'm not even exploring yet. I'll start when i've actually explored every single known system in the game which I haven't yet done. Like i said, i'll sit on that 50 mil then.

I hope by "known" you mean only those star systems shown on the quadrant map. Btw, if you finish the default quest and then go on to do the Quest for Peace, you'll find out that Peace is more expensive. It doesn't reward you with credits. In fact, you'll be spending a lot more than a few million. 'Cause it rewards you with an expanded view of the Evoverse.

At the moment I have close to 20 billion credits!

So Fifty million is not that much, try to buy some station licenses and or fulcrum torpedos , Stealth Generator(12million to 32million), Antimissile System(8million to 13million), Auto CM launcher(9million to 15million).....etc...etc....etc...your fifty million is soon gone!......

I do not remmember getting fifty million on the first IMG mission!, I thought it was more at the end or close to the end of the whole 1st Quest the default one. And the 2nd Quest being the Quest for Peace made by SeeJay! and the 3rd Quest being the Rally Quest by Marvin!

And each Quest has its own amount of missions and/or tasks to be completed! So make sure you are not confusing first Quest with first Mission Quest!....

Okay, if you're saying he got paid by IMG for the very first IMG contract ... and it came to 50 million ... yeah, that's a lot more than I got paid.

1. I see Raynor's date of Forum Registry being 1-17-2012! Where did you see 2-12-2012?

2. Even the post dates of Raynor's latest posts here are 2-11-2012

3. His Grade on this forum has nothing to do with his rank or grade in the game!. The ranking on this forum goes by amount of posts and for some special ranks by assignment as the need for modderators arises! In game for example my rank is Legends and Fleet Admiral but yet I have the most amount of posts and my rank is still Captain on this Forum! Captain is the highest rank you can get on this forum normally!...

4. I believe you become Lt. Jr. Grade on this forum once you have posted 50 posts!

Yeah hmm, 50 millions credits i obviously mean at the end of the QUEST not MISSION. I did specify quest.

As for my rank in game, i'm obviously still a beginner. (i think i'm rated as Competent with a rating of something like 180 and for military ranking, i'm just an Ensign)

And it's got a totally different flavour - it feel more like I'm a Merc doing Merc stuff rather than a series of lessons!
