Wow, that dates way back. But that may have been the pioneering, it certainly didn't have a notable following back then, but it does now. Interesting history none the less.

Here's another one ... and I'm not even going to go to Wiki for this ... so excuse the spelling and/or whatever else I get wrong. But the music for the original "Day the Earth Stood Still" was made with what was then called a Zyther ... now called a Theramin, after the guy who invented it. (You can correct me if I got any of that wrong.)

It is, it's a mash up of several songs in a somewhat arranged and played order as if each key is a different song part or tune.

95% of the music i enjoy most was written in the 80's or late 70's. I'm big into punk (old school mainly late 70's early 80's style like The Clash, Buzzcocks, Ramones, etc), post-punk (like The Chameleons, early U2, Joy Division, PIL, Bauhaus, the skids, The Cure, ALtered Images, etc) and new wave (new order, depeche mode, Tears for fears, etc). I like some more modern music too (Arcade fire, Radiohead, Interpol).

I like some more classic sort of rock too (old Bruce Springsteen, ACDC, Pink Floyd) and even old fashioned country (Johnny Cash, Hank Williams and the likes). In the more instrumental kind i like some classical, movie scores (someone mentionend basil poledouris, his Conan score is classic) and i like electronic music too, just not any kind. Techno and the more dancey type I can't stand but more ambient stuff i like. I think in any musical genres there are some worthwhile things, some good stuff and some bad stuff.

Here's one that has been playing on the radio here lately, and I think it's really good. I normally don't like the emo stuff that much (more into Armin Van Buuren etc

), but I think this one is exceptionally well written. Brilliant in all its simplicity.
