Dedicated Server w/ Password, can't connect

Hello,

I did a search, nothing found on "invalid password" .... so here I am ...

I set up a dedicated server with no password, it runs well, client can connect perfectly.

However, when I add a password to it, the game client has no place to enter the password, the client logs in, then gets the boot for invalid password...

any ideas on how to get it to work?

The session password option is only for publically listed servers. If you're using the direct IP option, then just inform the players you want to join you of the IP address. Now the admin password is something else, if that is what you are referring to.

Ok, that makes sense I guess, though what I am saying is there is no place in the client to PUT a password when joining... is that because it sees the server as private and just assumes it doesn't need one?

... and since you mention admin password, I do have one, but where would it be used in the client? ....

Yes, when the server is in private hosting mode, the client will not prompt for a password when joining (expecting that only the players you've informed the IP to will have the required connection information).

The admin password is for allowing a client to perform basic admin tasks on the server, so they will only enter the password when they are performing an admin command function.
