I posted some robots I want to make on the kick starter site in hopes of getting them funded. Check them out and tell me what you think.

Do you think they are useful? Do you think they will move us in the Jetsons era? If you could afford it would you want one? (keep in mind the budget is for design, testing, and marketing)
Do you have any comments on this?

I'm making some robots
The first robot thought very usefull sounding also sounds a bit complex! To make it a reality you might not be able to implement all of the features listed (but hopefully most!)(Also maybe I am just ignorant of how far technology has advanced or how smart you are!)
The second robot though, the wheelbarrow, looks both very useful and very dooable. I know it could be very popular in companies like UPS and the like for loading purposes, perhaps you might contect them to see if they are interested? For the more common use it would have to be cheap (like no more than $100-$500) to attract the biggest market(amongst the people that is, not companies). I know I would love having it when cleaning up the yard of twigs and leaves after a storm, or to take it with me when I chop wood! Good Luck!

Thanks for looking at that. I estimate the total cost of the first robot to be around $5-10k ONLY if it's bought in high bulk. (Motors are like $100 or $200 a piece but you can get them for $20 if you buy a lot of them at once)From post: 126333, Topic: tid=8582, author=erkage wrote:The first robot thought very usefull sounding also sounds a bit complex! But for me to make this one it will cost a bit since it's one robot and it's going to go through a serious amount of testing to make sure it's safe in peoples homes.
A far as the other robot, I think I can make a $500-$1000 model if it's bought in high bulk but I am not sure because I hand't physical built this and it needs to last the weather and stuff.
Thanks for bring up the idea about contacting UPS. I honestly didn't think about that and hopefully they can pay me to make a model for them.
BTW if I can get this thing funded, the next model will pick up small twigs and stuff around the yard. Also, I have in mind a robot that can pick up and move big heavy logs. (that one will take a lot of hydraulic work so it might be a little bit for that one)
And to top it off, I have in mind a robot that can edge the sidewalks and weed eat. (I think I can make them for $200 or so but it's hard to say without physically making it and testing it)

I just e-mailed UPS, postal service, and FedEx with the wheelbarrow robot idea. Wish me luck.

Hmmmmm. If it has to take out the trash there is a big chance of Robot Kidnapping and would be a big risk for your investment of $5000+......From post: 126731, Topic: tid=8582, author=airassassin wrote:The robotic helper is http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/trh ... ?ref=usersFrom post: 126704, Topic: tid=8582, author=Maarschalk wrote:Yes, Goodluck airassassin, if only those robots could climb stairs!.......:P

lol and laser eyes.
It will have a GPS in it and if it's picked up it's locked down and you must have a code to turn it back on.
