It is hard trying to confuse others without confusing yourself. It is like digging a hole for some one else and trying not to fall into it your self! I can tell you I dug a lot of holes for myself and fallen in some, climmed out of some, got stuck in some, hid in some, made out in some, got blown up in some....sounds like the story of a wabbit......

The Story of Cindy
OK, it is really late here right now and I probably should be asleep, but I felt like writing the rest of Chapter 3. So... here am I with the finished chapter posting it. Hopefully it isn't as confusing as I think it is...
:P Mom says the first half of it isn't confusing and that seems like the most confusing part to me, so hopefully it won't be as confusing to everyone else as it was to me.
Someone is probably going to dream about being 'Cindy' tonight.

The Story of Cindy
Chapter 3
Slowly opening her eyes a few hours later, Cindy woke up in a really bad mood. She was hungry, cold, aggravated, and had a headache. She got up and looked for one of the boxes. They were all gone. The door opened and the man was there with one of the ‘Z’ objects pointed at her.
“Not again. I’ll be good. Cindy sighed and sat back down.
“Oh, so the fighter is tired of fighting me now? the man smiled at her. Cindy didn’t look at him or answer. “Are you hungry? She nodded her head ‘yes’. “Come on then. I don’t want to starve you, but if you make one wrong move…
Cindy got up and walked out the door. There was a plate of food on one of the boxes that had been in the other room. The lid was off of one of them showing another ‘Z’ object showing. She got as close as she could to it and then faked that she tripped. As she fell, he just looked at her. She grabbed the ‘Z’ object on the way down and rolled over to face him.
“Good work, but one thing you should know – I’m not stupid enough to leave a working zap gun in your reach.
Cindy pushed the buttons. Nothing happened. Dropping the zap gun she sat up and leaned on the box. “So what are you going to do with me?
“I’m going to let you eat if you are hungry. This will be the last chance you’ll get for a little while.
“Is the food edible? Cindy asked sarcastically.
“Yes, it is edible. Now if you want it, get up and take it back into your room.
“That room isn’t my room. Cindy growled, but got up, picked up the plate, and walked back into the room. He shut the door behind her.
Sitting down with her back against the wall facing the door, Cindy studied the food on the plate. There was a piece of something that looked a little bit like bread, some red things that resembled peas, and strips of something that were whitish.
Cindy picked up of the ‘red peas’ and tasted it. It tasted different, strange, but still good. Somewhat sweet, but had a tiny hint of bitterness in it. She broke off a piece of the bread and tasted it. It tasted like sawdust or cardboard, but she swallowed it – even though she wanted to spit it out.
Cindy looked at the whitish strips, contemplating if she should dare to taste them or not. Finally she broke off a piece and tasted it. As soon as it was in her mouth, she knew there was no way she could swallow it. She was sure that it was some kind of meat and it made her sick. She put the piece on the edge of her plate and glared at it.
Looking around for an oval-shaped object, Cindy saw it where she had left it and picked it up to talk into it. “I thought you said this food was edible?!
“It is edible, you just need to get used to it. The man’s reply was quick and decisive.
“I don’t eat meat. Cindy growled.
“Will eating meat kill you?
“No.
“Then it is edible. Eat it or don’t eat it. It’s up to you. I don’t care if you starve just because you refuse to eat what I give you. Besides, there is bread and that other food.
“The bread tastes like sawdust.
“Then don’t eat it either. The man said, getting a little bit grumpy with his passenger. He said as an afterthought though, “If you mash the other food up and put it on the bread it does taste a bit better.
“I’ll try that. Thank you. Cindy said.
“What is wrong with you anyway? Last time we met you ate the meat just fine.
Cindy glared at the object in her hand. “Last time we met? I ate meat? Are you trying to be an idiot or are you just that way?
“I am not an idiot. If you’d cooperate, it’d be helpful. By the way, what did you say your name was?
“I didn’t say and since you kidnapped me, I’d say I have plenty of reasons not to cooperate.
“Well according to my information Miss, your name is Annalise and the reason I kidnapped you is because you got a huge price on your head. The information you can give my boss is invaluable.
“Wait a minute. My name ain’t Annalise. I don’t know anything about having a price on my head and if what you say is true, then I’m not worth your time. So… you can take me home, right?
“Whatever you say Miss. I’ll play your game with not knowing what I’m talking about, but I know that you are Annalise. You look exactly like her – and act like her for that matter. You even knew that this was a space ship, so you had to be Annalise. I’ll be happy with my reward though, but my boss just said preferably alive so stop pestering me.
“Preferably alive? What does that mean?
“It means that if you don’t shut up, I will seriously think about having you arrive dead.
“Oh. Cindy set the object down and looked at her plate. She was hungry, but was she hungry enough to eat the ‘bread’? Shaking her head no, she set her plate down and shuddered at the thought of what the man had said.
Annalise… who was she? Where was she? What did she know that was so useful? How could her kidnapper think she was Annalise when she had never seen him before or been to space for that matter? Why was she in this predicament?
Cindy decided to search for a way out again. Years of playing good/bad guy with her sister came into practice and she saw something she had missed the first time – a tiny crack was on one of the walls. Using her short, but useful fingernails she pried a door off of a tiny compartment.
Inside of the compartment, there were a lot of wires. Reaching out a finger, Cindy touched one and quickly withdrew her finger with a “Ouch! because of a slight shock. She looked around the room for something to use… the plate, the panel, and the food on the plate was all that she had to use.
Cindy knew from experience with the electricity at her house not to use metal around electrical circuits, so that meant that she couldn’t use the plate or the panel. That white stuff would work just fine though. It wasn’t of any other use to her, so it’d be perfect. She placed the panel almost back into place and decided to eat the sawdusty bread and pea-like objects.
The man was right, the bread tasted better with the other stuff on it. It tasted almost like food instead of wood. Cindy put a few pieces of the white meat in one of her jacket pockets and laid down. Her plan would probably not work, but it was worth a try… she drifted off to sleep planning revenge against her kidnapper.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When Cindy woke up, she looked around for the plate. Just like she thought he would, the man must’ve taken it. Checking the panel, she was happy to find it was undisturbed and that the meat in her pocket was just fine as well. A evil grin spread across her face as she pressed the meat onto the electrical circuit and replaced the panel.
Within minutes Cindy was in the dark, waiting beside the door. Just like she thought he would, the man opened the door and said, “Miss, are you ok? I don’t know why the power failed in this room… Miss? The man ventured into the room as Cindy inched her way out of the room. She felt a little bit sorry for him as she proceeded to shut the door – locking him back in the room.
“HEY!!! Annalise let me out right now this second! Cindy just giggled as he yelled threats and promises and any other means he could think of to make her open the door. Still smiling, she walked towards the door to the cockpit. Before she reached the door however, the ship hit something and she was thrown against a stack of boxes.
Lying on the floor trying to regain her breath wasn’t exactly what she had in mind while escaping from the room. Gasping in some much needed air Cindy exhaled with a low, moaning “Ow… She just wanted to lay there, her body ached and her ribs hurt really badly, but she had to figure out how to get home – she just had to.
Cindy put her arms underneath of herself and pushed herself up into a sitting position. From there she stood up, extremely carefully. Leaning on the boxes, she thought of something, a weapon. That was what she needed – well that and not to shoot herself with it.
Opening the top box, Cindy found just what she was looking for – a zap gun. Now to find out what the ship had hit. Opening the door to the cockpit, she was greeted by multiple blue beams heading her direction. “Not again! she cried, but it was too late as she sank to the floor, unconscious again.
Slowly opening her eyes a few hours later, Cindy woke up in a really bad mood. She was hungry, cold, aggravated, and had a headache. She got up and looked for one of the boxes. They were all gone. The door opened and the man was there with one of the ‘Z’ objects pointed at her.

Yes, what happened to the hostile ship? And in this last chapter meat also conducts electricity if the white stuff was meat that is! If meat did not conduct electricity you would not get electric shocks in the first place. Meat is usually the muscles of an animal and muscles conduct electricity.....

Other then that I'm hanging from the cliff again!.....
:P
Oh yes, and I can tell you love Stargate!.... a lot of artifacts in your story resembles stargate....did Cindy play with one of those stones?........

OK, hostile ship was dealt with when Cindy was unconscious, so no one knows what happened to it other than her kidnapper.
As you can tell I don't know much about meat and just a little bit about electricity.
The part I'm quite sure of is not to put a paperclip in a plugin.
It bites you. (I did it when I was about 4 and still haven't lived it down at my house.
;)) What I was thinking is - even if meat conduits electricity if it was dried then it wouldn't conduit as much electricity... therefore when placed across the wires, it shorted out the circuit...
Anyway, something like that.
I've never played with one of those stones if that is what you're asking, but I do have plans to change that some day. I do love Stargate and pretty soon I'll be 'borrowing' some characters.
Well I don't want anyone to be hanging from a cliff - they might fall and hurt themselves, so perhaps my story should be finished now...
:P:P:P:P:P Just kidding!!!

LOL...you can put a paperclip safely in a plugin several ways if you know what you are doing but a 4 year old would not know how. I did the same thing instead I used a metal hairpin and one hole would shock me and the other would not!...From post: 123513, Topic: tid=8308, author=Cindy wrote: As you can tell I don't know much about meat and just a little bit about electricity. The part I'm quite sure of is not to put a paperclip in a plugin.

It is the Iron and the carbon in the blood and cells of the meat which the muscles have plenty of that conducts the electricity and not so much the wetness although it depends on the wetness to if it is water or oil and what kind of oil. Most oils are insulators and most waterbased liquids are conductive! You could have used a piece of rubber or synthetic from the bottom of your sneakers or if you had Polyester sneaker laces that would have worked to! that is if you where wearing slipers, sneakers, shoes or boots. Dutch wooden shoes would not work either, wood is mostly carbon that is why it never is wise to hide under a tree during a lightning storm!.....

OK, this last chapter is bothering me, so no more story until I figure it out.
What if the meat was tossed onto the wires instead of being placed there? Would that make more sense?
Your post taught me a bit about electricity and meat Maarschalk. Thank you.
:P:P:P Kat already threatened my existence if I put her in the story without letting her make her own story line - and a story is impossible for us to work together on!

LOL! virtually none of the carbon in your body is elemental carbon - it is the form of organic compunds which mostly don't conduct: carbon conducts as graphite and to a lesser extent charcoal; diamonds are excellent insulators. From post: 123499, Topic: tid=8308, author=Maarschalk wrote:Yes, what happened to the hostile ship? And in this last chapter meat also conducts electricity if the white stuff was meat that is! If meat did not conduct electricity you would not get electric shocks in the first place. Meat is usually the muscles of an animal and muscles conduct electricity.....:P:P:P:P:P
a human body is mainly salty water (averaging 60 percent of the total body weight) - when our ancestors left the oceans they did so encased in a fairly waterproof bag of salty water - this is the stuff that does the conducting - in the USA the pads connecting a prisoner to the electrodes of an electric chair are soaked in salt water to increase the electrical contact
"meat" is also relatively speaking "wet". Its fibrous nature means that its conductivity is less across than along the muscle fibres
wrt to blackholes - supermassive blackholes have been detected in the centre of many many galaxies and models suggest that they are integral to the formation of stars and galaxies in the first place. Smaller blackholes have been detected many times as part of binary star systems (the majority of "stars" we can see are binary or tertiary - Evochron is an exception!). Although blackholes, by definition, cannot be "seen" they do have a large radius of influence (the point beyond which you cannot escape) - these have been detected by their influence on the partner star.
Visibility is only one form of proof of existence atoms and molecules, any electromagnetic radiation outside the visible part of the spectrum (by definition) and gravity for example cannot be seen. Their behaviour and effect on other matter however does confirm their existence

The Story of Cindy
Yes, Dave is right about the majority of Carbon in or body not being elemental and that the conductivity of wetness depends on its impurities of the waterbased liquid. Pure Water does not conduct electricity very well unless the voltage potential is high enough to break the ion bond of the water molecules! But since the problem here was the conductivity of an item that was assumed to be meat and meat does conduct electricity in general because of its diversity in free moving ions and electrons being that those ions could be Carbon, Iron, Oxygen, Hydrogen.....etc.....!

The Story of Cindy
OK, I re-wrote Chapter 3 to my liking. Hopefully it is better now.
The lid was off of one of them showing another ‘Z’ object.
The man laid a bundle of clothes down on the floor inside of the door and set a pair of sandals on top of the bundle.
“You’ll need to wear the robe. The man said and then shut the door behind him.
Sitting down with her back against the wall facing the door, Cindy studied the food on the plate. There was a piece of something resembling bread, some red things that resembled peas, and strips of whitish objects.
As an afterthought he said, “If you mash the other food up and put it on the bread it does taste a bit better.
“I’ll try that. Thank you. Cindy said.
“What is wrong with you anyway? Last time we met you ate the meat just fine.
Cindy glared at the object in her hand. “Last time we met? I ate meat? Are you trying to be an idiot or are you just that way naturally?
“What do you mean preferably alive?
“It means that if you don’t shut up, I will seriously think about having you arrive dead.
“Oh. Cindy set the object down and looked at her plate. She was hungry, but was she hungry enough to eat the ‘bread’? Shaking her head no, she set her plate down and shuddered at the thought of what the man had said.
Annalise… who was she? Where was she? What did she know that was so useful? How could her kidnapper think she was Annalise when she had never seen him before or been to space for that matter? Why was she in this predicament?
Cindy decided to search for a way out again. Years of playing good guy, bad guy with her sister came into practice and she saw something she had missed the first time – a tiny crack was on one of the walls. Using her short, but useful fingernails she pried a door off of a tiny compartment.
Inside of the compartment, there were a lot of wires. Reaching out a finger, Cindy touched one and quickly withdrew her finger with an “Ouch! because of a slight shock. She looked around the room for something to use… the plate, the panel, the bundle of clothes, the sandals, and the food on the plate was all that she had to use.
Cindy knew from experience with the electricity at her house not to use metal around electrical circuits, so that meant that she couldn’t use the plate or the panel. The sandals would work just fine though since she wasn’t going to wear them anyway. She placed the panel almost back into place and decided to eat the saw-dusty bread and pea-like objects.
The man was right, the bread tasted better with the other stuff on it. It tasted almost like food instead of wood. Cindy used the bundle of clothes as a pillow and lay down. Her plan would probably not work, but it was worth a try… she drifted off to sleep planning revenge against her kidnapper.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When Cindy awoke, she looked around. The man must’ve taken the plate, but the bundle of clothes and the sandals were still in the room. Checking the panel, she was happy to find it was undisturbed. An evil grin spread across her face as she used one of the sandals to press two wires together – snapping and sparking the wires touched, then stayed touching with the pressure on them. She replaced the panel, leaving one of the sandals inside pushing the wires together.
Cindy quickly put the dark brown robe on and went over by the door. Within minutes she was in the dark, waiting beside the door. Just like she thought he would, the man opened the door and said, “Miss, are you ok? I don’t know why the power failed in this room… Annalise?

The Story of Cindy
Chapter Four
As Cindy opened her eyes, she felt different than she had since being in space away from her home. There was something that she felt like she remembered, but she couldn’t remember what it was. It was frustrating her. What was here that seemed so familiar, yet felt wrong?
Cindy looked up at the ceiling. It was gray – a bleak, drab gray. She felt a blanket over her, and tipping her head slowly she looked at it. The blanket was brown, just like the robe she still had on. She was lying on a bed from what she could feel. Slowly turning her head she looked around the room. She was alone in a cell of some sort with a door at one end. The door had a small window with bars on it.
Cindy slowly sat up on the edge of the bed, not her bed. She mustn’t think of anything here as hers. She crossed her arms. Her plan had failed… again. Her thoughts drifted to Annalise. That name sounded so familiar, where had she heard it before recently? A memory flashed through her mind, a cell like this one, a lot of people, someone calling ‘Help Annalise!’, something bad happening and the memory faded with a sharp pain.
Cindy fell back into a laying position as the sharp pain filled her brain. ‘Oww…’ she moaned as she squeezed her forehead with her hands. She heard footsteps and tried to get up, but the pain was too bad. The cell door creaked open and someone was shoved in, then the door was shut again. Finally she was able to sit up and look around.
“Who are you? Cindy asked the man who was standing on the inside of the cell door, peering through the bars.
The man turned around with a smirk on his face. “You don’t remember me Annalise? You should.
Cindy just looked at him. It was the guy who had kidnapped her. “My question still stands. She quietly said. “Who are you and what are you doing here?
The man sighed. “Well I guess I can tell you now since we are both in trouble. My name is Niemand. What I am doing here is a long story, but if you shortened it up it’d be something like this: I agreed to kidnap a girl named Annalise for a position in the koninklijke troepen. Instead I’m locked up in the same cell as she is because they didn’t keep their end of the bargain.
“I told you that I wasn’t Annalise. was Cindy’s simple reply.
“For both of our sakes, I hope you’re just trying to protect your friends from Earth. If you are serious, then neither of us will be living much longer. Niemand said as he sat down with his back to the wall.
“What do you mean? Cindy asked.
“I mean that if you aren’t Annalise, then we will both get killed sooner rather than later.
“Well then, we are going to die because I’m not Annalise.
“Just stop the act already! For once why don’t you care about what is going to happen to others? Niemand yelled at her and stood up. “Annalise, show that you care what is going to happen to us! Don’t you know that death is final and it will be painful for one of us?!
Niemand was just a couple steps away from Cindy. She slid back away from him a little ways, but there wasn’t enough space to get away from him. Two more steps brought him, snarling about how she was just pretending right next to her.
Cindy tried shrinking back closer to the wall, but she couldn’t get any farther back. She was terrified now. Memories were running through her head. She couldn’t think. She wanted out of this situation. Looking into Niemand’s eyes, she saw anger and hatred. Out of the corner of her eye she saw him raise his hand. The next thing she knew, she felt his hand come in contact with her cheek.
Cindy’s cheek throbbed and she was even more terrified of this man – if that was even possible. Memories were still pouring through her mind and she couldn’t think of anything else to do other than to cry. Bringing her knees up, she wrapped her arms around them and rested her forehead there. She started to cry – every bit of pain from leaving her family behind, how scared she was and had been, and everything that had happened to her just came out right then in tears.
“Shut up. He snarled. Cindy raised her head to look at him and saw his hand moving toward her again. She made herself as small as possible and hid her face. She was prepared for him to hit her again, but instead she felt him touch her hair. She flinched away from his touch. He walked away from her and back to the door. “Not so brave now are you?
Cindy didn’t say anything. Tears were still running down her cheeks. The good memories of her past were changing into some kind of nightmare. Like a movie that she didn’t want watch, memories flew through her mind in fast forward. After a while, the memories and the tears slowed as Cindy drifted into fitful sleep.
