EM instant closing after load screen

Hey, I was trying to go through the forum and I couldn't seem to find anything about the steam version instantly closing after loading up your pilot and clicking "Launch". It started happening when I was trying to remove the radio chatter and added the Sound folder and a .wav file that was recorded silence. Thought I'd remove the folder and try the game again but it closed again so I verified the files (right click the steam version and go to properties and whatnot) and then ran it again. Still nothing, then I uninstalled it, reinstalled it and still the same problem. My last effort required me to uninstall the game, delete the game folder from my computer, restart my pc, reinstall the game, verify the files, start steam as an admin, and start up the game and still nothing.

Can anyone help me out?

I had to download the most recent update of the game from the official website and play through there rather than playing through my steam account.

There might still be something lingering in the folder, but your attempt to clean it should have worked. So I'm not sure what the cause might be. I'd be interested in learning more about the file you tried to import, if you'd be willing to send me an e-mail with the specs (format, sample rate, channels, length, etc).

I just sent an e-mail with the .nfo file, if there's anything else you need let me know. I'll go ahead and place my specs in this post as well.

Hi Kurtiz, welcome to the game and forum...Hope to see you out there some time once you get it working!.....

Did you try lowering the in game settings to the lowest setting so minimum resources are being used by the Game?
That is if you can still get to the Launch screen!

Last year, Dell owners had a problem with one of its background programs ... I forget which one. Vice might remember.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm hoping to start playing multiplayer once I get the hang of things. I was able to lower the settings and so far it's holding out.

Vice was able to help me out with the problem, I wasn't aware of how ram hungry the game was. Turned down the planet details and I'm going to have it running for a while to see if there's anything else.
