Hello!
I just tried the Evochron demo and I have to say it's really mind blowing.
When I known that it was made entirely by just one man what I have to say is: unconceivable!;)

What I'd really like to know is, basically, who are the people that are involved with it. It must be some kind of special ones, I guess.

I'd want you all to make a very brief description like mine below:

I'm a 26 year old engineering student from Italy with a love for aerospace and sci-fi.I play Evochron a few hour in the weekend to relax.

Cooney, if you would like to know who a particular pilot/forum member is, check the "profile" button below any of that Pilots' posts, in this forum. Well, that is if they've thought to enter anything there.

I don't think I have anything on my profile, so I'll add something here:

I'm a 30 year old from Holland (about to turn 31). At the moment I'm working in construction, which was a more or less involuntary choice I made after I left the military. Before construction I was a Sergeant in the military as a military police officer, working at Amsterdam Airport. Dream job, but all good things come to an end. If anything, the international character of the job has helped my English a lot.

At the moment I am building my own house, which has always been a big dream of mine and is about finished. When it is, I have plans to turn my greatest hobby - graphic design - into an online business. I have some ideas that will hopefully make me successful in that area.

I play EM as often as I can, which is not that often. Only one or two evenings during the week, Saturday evenings and most Sundays all day if the girlfriend lets me lol. before EM I played a lot of Freelancer and was part of a couple of modding teams on different servers (not at the same time though), where most of the time I wrote ini files for the game, and designed 3D models, textures and coded them into the game. I don't do modding anymore since it just takes more time than I have available for it.

I have to note that Evochron Mercenary is the most fabulous game I have ever come across, and also has by far, the best and most friendly community. I'm happy and proud to be a member here.

Just a piece of advice to all. The world today is so packed with ways to be connected and it is easy to give out information about yourself that a data miner may be able to use in ways not intended by the poster. Beware leaving anything too personal out there for the unscrupulous to use.!;)

First of all, I'm sorry if you feel like I want to steal your information or something.
Of course I'm not interested in this "data mining" or whatever you call it.
The point is: I'm so amazed with the game and the forum that I just feel the need to know more about the "real" people that are involved in it.
I repeat: I'm sorry if you think that I want to do strange "CIA stuff", I only want to know this whole, fabulous, Starwraith thing better.

p.s. - I feel here it's more interesting than X-Plane but I still can't tell the reasons why!

Don't worry about it Cooney. Thetiebers was just making a general statement to be careful with which information to put on the internet for everyone to see. Unfortunately there are people who seek to use it against others. I'm sure it was not directed to you personally.

Personally I like to know a little more about our community members as well and think it's a good thread.

Like the others said it is not about you Cooney using the information. It is about others who could read the provided information and use it in a bad way! We all understood what you where trying to do and that your intentions are good! But it is a cruel world out there and there are always some who will abuse any information they can get on a public forum!........

Hi Cooney and welcome.

I'm a 44 years young Swede and are a commercial Pilot/Instructor.

I currently work with aircraft performance (Takeoff weights, driftdowns, emergency flight paths etc).
Married with 2 kids (5 and 6).

Started playing EM on release date and has been on more or less every day since LOL!
I think you can imagine what my wife thinks about that LOL!

Got a lot of new friends through this game/community and still
learn something new in game every now and then. (Yeah, I might be "slow" but I truly enjoy this game LOL).
