No voice acting

Hello everyone!

I've just bought the game on Steam, and I was doing the tutorial session. Unfortunatly I've discovered that I can't hear the voice of the narrator that reads the text written on the left corner of the screen. I tried also to start the singleplayer, but nothing changed. I can't still hearing any voice. I googled on the net if someone had the same issue, but I haven't find anything useful yet. Thanks for your help!

You might be referring to the IMG quest messages, which have now voice narration. The training mode can't be accessed in multiplayer, so that's why I suspect you're referring to the quest text. The training mode does include voice narration for each stage.

I'm talking about the tutorial. In the stages that you have mentioned I can't hear the voice narration. I've not started the multiplayer yet, so I'm only talking about the first steps into the game.

It'd be a little strange that would happen. Do you have a list of the audio codecs your system has installed. What version of Windows are you running? What version of Windows Media Player do you have installed?

I'm running windows 7 ultimate 64bit, Media Player 12.

Strange, a vanilla install of Win7 with updates can play the audio, so I'm not sure what the cause might be. What sound card make and model are you using and what driver version? Also make sure you have the proper playback device selected and nothing muted if you have more than one playback devices installed!

I've discovered another strange thing. In the game I can't also hear the people talking into the voice chat. I don't know if it could help, but i can't hear also all those radio messages that you can hear inside your ship. I mean, those scripted messages which are meant only for enviromental sound. I've tried to download the voice test on the download page, and i can't hear my voice. I'm using a creative x-fi extreme audio card, and I haven't any problem with other games or voip programs.
