I just installed the newest demo version of evochron mercenary. I play on a projector with 1280x720 resolution, and the first thing I noticed is that the game does not support or recognize that setting.
I changed it in the config file anyway, but upon starting, it said that resolution is not supported and put it back at "Optimized."
Without that resolution, I cannot play the game at all. It would be nice if there is a workaround to allow this, as it is a very standard widescreen format.
In addition, the game did not seem to interface with nVidia's 3D Vision drivers. This normally works for all Direct X games automatically, whether or not they support 3D vision. I think that would be a great selling point for this game, and I hope there is a way for it to work.
Hardware:

1280X720 may not be selectable in the menu, but if the configuration you're using supports it, that mode should enable when manually entered like you tried. Did you enter it as 1280x720 as you typed or 1280X720 with a capital X? If the former, try it again with a capital X instead.
I'm not sure why the 3D vision wouldn't work, if it supports for all/most other DirectX games. One step to try would be to try different screen modes to see if it might pick it up that way.

Thanks guys! It was the capital "X" in the resolution setting that I was missing, but it works now.
Still can't get 3D vision to work, but I will look into it some more.
Anyway, I am excited to start playing. Hopefully I will see you online too.

The 3D vision doesn't work because Evochron Mercenary isn't one of the games that nvidia supports, officially
However, you can rename the executable to Mass Effect and that works perfectly fine
On a side note, i was going to create a separate thread about this, but some of the HUD elements don't draw on each other properly in 3d and it really messes with my eyes. If they did, it would work fantastically.. It's mainly the pitch meter being a tad too close to the screen (not that much of an issue), and nav icons/ship icons drawing behind the rest of the HUD despite being in front of it. Is it possible we could have some options so that we could mess with it ourselves? I know 3d is a niche market, but i would really appreciate it if you did!

Thanks Icedshot, I will try that when I get home tonight. That is a pretty cool way to spoof the drivers.

Edit: I have 3D showing up now. Originally, changing the exe name didn't work, but after I reinstalled my drivers in addition to changing the name, it works.
