lol That is a good strategy Maarschalk, but I'm not counting on it to work for me. ;) I'm probably going to have to fight someone... eventually... or get kicked out by default because it is taking to long to catch me. :P

Lots of tactics to consider,

from ship frame (Evoch for fast get away and hit and run, or a chim for lots of damage absorption, or even a high end civ ship for fast repairs)

to missile load-out (Excals for regen and extended combat, or lynx to leave opponents engines dead for others to take out, or even leech missiles to confuse players in an already chaotic situation.

to tactics (hit and run, hide and seek, gang up on strong fighters, pick off weak fighters, swoop in and take on fighters who are already engaged)

and more!

This is my kind of event!
I am considering having 3 rounds. Since it is unlikely that one player would win multiples, this would mean multiple winners, however, would extend the fun. What do you think?

Great idea Dingo.

If there are 3 different winners, they can have a final round to declare 1 winner!?!
(I aim for 3 wins thou, LOL!):P

 Any number of rounds is fine with me. Just give enough time between rounds to open a new bottle of beer.

Any suggestions yet for day and time? :)

The Rally start time worked well for me in the UK - mid-evening

3PM eastern time on Sunday should work for me, but my schedule isn't very stable right now - if it ever was. lol I'll try to let you know for sure if I can make it on Friday or Saturday.

Count me in as SKY KING but what time? May I suggest around 5 pm CDT?
Saphire should be the area to fight in because you have different of battle areas environments. It should be the first player to win 5 battles. Ship of your choice.

DaveK is 100% correct this is a game of survival, strategy and luck. There should be more explosions then the 4th of July. Turn your speakers down and enjoy this master-piece of a game.

A suggestion for any spectators is to add a clan tag or something to avoid
getting shot at in the heat of the battle! We can all then make green and all others red.

Count me in.

So I understand it will be a all against all furball.... some issue can arise about red/gree pilots if we use tags. Probably best to have all participants clone their profile and remove the tags so it will be all yellow.

Otherwise clans teamwork will be almost autimatical since we'll start out as green....and resort to fight only at the very least.

We just need to put rules clearly down.
Best regards

Great Idea Denny. All clan tags will be removed for this event.

I am open to whatever time the most players can attend. So if you can think of a better one, go ahead!

 Well, Denny only flies on Sunday. So, if you change the day, at least it will prevent inter-guild destruction among the IM.

How do you keep people from joining late into the game. The reason I bring this up is if a person joins 10 minutes after the tournament starts it gives her or him an advantage.

Easy, we just keep track of who is there at the start. No others allowed to compete until next round.

Once the game ends it should restart with no long delay for repairs. Some of these military ships can take forever to repair.

 Somebody can deploy a repair station and a refueling station. Maybe even a sensor array. (A keg of beer would be nice, too.) ;)

Actually, pop into a station, pay the asking price and you are repaired instantly. Let's not be too stingy here! :D

If there are any newer pilots who would find the repair costs excessive - I'll happily pay them to keep the momentum going :)

To bad the station repair does not bring your sheilds back to max instantly as it does all else.:(
