Hello I have some problems with multiplayer.
I never could connect to a mutliplayer server or neither someone to my server. Then we played over hamachi. But my friends can play over Internet without hamachi but I can't connect.
Then I deactivated Hamachi and I get a socket error. Then I tried some things..
I deactivated Hamachi, the network adapter, deinstalled hamachi, killed the service, used ccleaner and its hamachi free now and I get the socket error again.. dont know what to do now..
here is the error

That can happen when either the network device is entirely unavailable or you enter the wrong local IP address for the connection.
What 'local IP' address does the server program automatically detect when you start it and is that the address you are using?

192.168.1.2 and thats correct.
I deinstalled the game and set up the dedicated server on a second pc in my LAN. Server is connected. I connected over the lan ip 192.168.1.4 and it loads. After 100% it crashed. I restarted and and connect again and now only the same socket error....

Ok I found the causer of the bug. thx to your explanation of the exception.
It is Kaspersky Internet Security 2011.. I configured all that Kaspersky neither controlls the programm activity or the network activity (since I had often some problems with jdownloader for instance)
Don't know why it humpes me up like that ^^ maybe you should it add to the FAQ. I will try some other options. Deactivating my security systems is not a good solution.
Thx for your support (i hope it will work again and its not a random anomaly)

Interference from external programs can be a common cause of problems like that in any game. You shouldn't have to disable it entirely though, instead just adding the game to an exception list (if Kapersky offers such an option).
Since the game is the program making the request to access the network and the security program is the one blocking the request, it should have an exception list option for such functionality. The developers of Kapersky might be able to offer the best advice though as to allowing a game to access the network and yet still maintain a desired security level.

no it doesn't help.. I add it to the exception list (programm list and firewall) but doesn't help. It not even helps to stop kaspersky.. I must close the entire programm and then I can play.
