Starmaster, you know, the used to be ship that 97% of the players flew before the military ship buff.

I was in the 3% that flew something else then the Starmaster.

Future of Evochron and SW3dgames?

Post by DaveK »

Vice listens a lot and has changed a lot even in the time I've been playing - I had EL for a few months before EM came out and I bought it that same day!

I love the suggestion threads that come up with additions and changes - the discussion of the pro & cons is fascinating. It's also lead directly to some quite big changes that have improved the game (even if they have made it harder for me) - Excalibur with a 3 minute regen time for example or military frames that I find very very hard to survive

Some changes though are not "step" changes, they are major leaps. If we have IW-style Corvettes or BattleCruiser 3000AD style ships then we will have turned EM into those games; if you want to run a battleship (which is a full time job in itself), play a battleship sim; if you're lonely and want a chatty crew, play IW (available from GOG for all Windows platforms) - though I don't think that you actually walk around them and any "chat" with AI crew would be much like talking to a brick wall! If you just want a easy to fly combat ship that's bigger and better than the rest and that would make you effectively invulnerable to the little ship peeps then thank heavens for the FT. If you want a better challenge from capital ships then Vice can beef them up so that only teams could take them on - perhaps human battleships and cruisers for the mortals amongst us and Vonari capital ships for the dedicated Aces in wolf packs ;)
