cargo space not availoable for xx ?? Mining question

So I just played thru the demo for EM, and when I mine, I'll be loading diamonds into the cargo bay, but getting messages the whole time about no cargo space available for plat or metals, etc. But then later I was mining elsewhere, and loading platinum into the cargo bay but then getting messages that no space for diamonds? I don't get it...

Cool game so far, nice and relaxing. Did get a missile lock warning a couple times but no hostiles in the area?

You can only load one mineral at a time if you only have one cargo bay. You can have up to 5 cargo bays, which means that you can load up to five minerals at the same time. Though, most pilots confine themselves to loading platinum, as it pays the best. If you collect a mineral, that you don't want, you can dump it, right, or left click, can't remember which, on the selected cargo bay. You can also find selected tractor beams that will only collect one mineral, such as plat/gold/dia etc. The selected mining beams are quicker. You can also increase the tempo of your mining by swinging the mining/tractor beam around the mining area.

Remember; you can also mine from planets, including oxygen when you are flying thru the planets' atmosphere.

On the Missile lock, it was reporting that YOU have a missile lock, not that someone has locked on you

Great, thanks for the information. Do I simply buy a new cargo bay, or do I need a new ship frame?

Also seems like certain areas on an asteroid mine better/faster than others, kind of like finding that sweet spot.

Yep, you just up the cargo bays in the station ship building section, depends on how many build points you have for a particular ship. You may have to upgrade your ship as well.
