Need Help With Resource Trading

I bought Evochron Mercenaries awhile back but put it down
for awhile for reasons I can't quite remember, probably just felt like playing a different game.

Anyways I've been thinking about getting back into it, downloading the newest version right now, but one of the things I remember I had difficulty with before was trading resources.

I remember on the nav map the solar systems were color coded in economy view, but I couldn't figure out exactly what this meant.

I've always enjoyed trading games like Space Rangers 2 where you would buy resources from one location for cheaper and sell them somewhere else for more so I was wondering how this system works in Evochron. How do I know where to buy goods for the best prices and where to sell them for the most?

Also on a secondary note. Does anyone else feel that the jump drive is a little too 'easy.' I mean if I'm going to be trading resources from one location to another, in between locations all I'm going to be doing is jumping over and over until I reach my destination. Does anyone else feel there should be a longer cooldown timer? So you spend more time actually flying than jumping?

When you say prices climb, do you mean if I buy in higher areas it will cost more? Or I can sell there for more?

Should I be buying in lower and selling in higher, or buying in higher and selling in lower?

Ok I think I get it now. Buy towards red, sell towards green.

Does the map change when the economy is changed by an economic station though. I mostly play on the Remula One server, and I never know who's building what where, will I know when there's a lot of eco stations built at say Sapphire and prices are better somewhere else? As in will the red on the map turn more orange when stations are built, or do I have to do a little guessing?

Hi Vince0018, welcome to the game and forum. Evochron Mercenary is a game of many trades. So if you wan't to trade you have to explore the systems to find out where to buy cheap and where to sell high. The green area on the economy map is the high Tech area where prices are the highest for buying and selling. The Agricultural area(I forgot what color) is the low economy area where prices are lowest. You can however increase the Technology level in a System by building certain Stations and increasing the economy in a particular sector.

Also on the jumping, there is a Mantis Jump drive that lets you jump 10 sectors at a time for faster travel......
