Can't assign hat on joy

Hi all, i want to assign my hat joy to strafe but unfortunately the game don't allow me to do that, i'm on evochron mercenaries

Otherwise anything else works fine, any workaround?

What message do you see when you click on 'Joystick HAT' in the Options menu?

Hi Risbo, Welcome to the game and forum.

What kind of joystick are you using? Does it have it's own programming software?

I use a T.Flight Hotas X, there is no no programming software and when i try to assign HAT it simply do anythning :-/
(Works fine in other games)

Don't feel stupid - I've been playing for a few months now and still ask questions which have answers that are obvious when they are explained!!
