Anyone been to SOL?

Post by NFW »

No jump gates lead there or back, description says it gets very few visitors from Evochron...

Just wondering if anyone has ever gone there?

Before I read the solar system description on the web page I was in the process of autopiloting to there.... but then got an idea of how long it would take to get there.... and got bored.

Anyone actually decided to make the trip? What did you find? Is it worth taking all the time to go there? Or is it actually reachable even if you wanted to take the time to plot a course?

Just curious.... my game is running in another window... I was autopilot jumping for the past 15 or 20 min.... then decided to turn around LOL.... guess it's a good time to grab a smoke and maybe a coffee.

 You haven't played Legends until you've been to Sol. And there is a gate back to the main star systems ... you just gotta look for it (hint: highlight "Gates" on the Quadrant map). There is also a gate leading to Sol ... but sometimes it's just easier to go the long way. Autopilot is your friend.

There is a gate to SOL and also there is 1 or 2 wormholes to SOL. Yes I have been there......and landed on Earth which only a few have managed to achieve.......;):P If you have a Mantis Jump Drive it will take you an hour or more going the long way depending from where you start your journey....;)

I have been there, both by gates and the long way.
I still have to manage what Maars and a few have accomplished: Landing on Earth.

I have made many beautiful explosions for others to watch in my attempts.;)
I have NOT given up, this is one of many secrets in Evochron that I just need to
figure out.;)

If all other things fails, you can always use my site for guidance. (Spoiler Warning):P

Catch you out there mate, maybe we can die together trying to land on Earth?

Ok, so been exploring in single player mode for a few hours.

Gave up for the time being on figuring out how to get to SOL without spending the hour or so doing the long haul flight.

Was reading the forums about 'rift space' ... wasn't sure about it so was also flying around trying to figure out exactly what you guys are talking about.... ... what is it exactly? I'd flown into a few different sectors and systems... figured it wouldn't be shown on the map as a gate. So looked around for anything out of the ordinary on the map... then would fly to it...

Saw a bright spot... so flew to it.... blew up.. now I know what a 'star' is and that getting to close is a bad thing.

Flew into my first nebula... graphic effects are amazing... feels like I'm recreating a scene from Star Trek... was that the wrath of Kaan when they flew into the nebula ?

Also made my first trip to Agate? Old news for you guys but I'd never heard of it and it didn't show on the map so was fun for me to go there.... still there now exploring... found a cool asteroid that I could fly inside of... was very cool..
bit disappointing that after finally docking inside of it, other then the name the station was just a stock station... was kind of hoping for some custom missions given how unique the circumstances. Was actually disappointed that at a rebel base they offered navy missions and no rebel missions....
Anyways just my 2 cents worth of criticism. ok break is over, going to go back to exploring. :)

Great to see you're learning the ropes.

RiftSpace is a system with some nice suprices in it.

I can either u2u some info (coords) if you like, or you can check my site and find it yourself.
Both ways are spoiler warning so it's your call.;)

BTW, we have all kissed stars, planets, roids and just about anything else you can smack into head first.
I still do sometimes, LOL!;)

RiftSpace is a rift in Space that seperates Evochron from Vonari Space and where the Renegades had dissapeared to in the Game Evochron Renegades and where the Renegades had a planet that was destroyed by the Vonari in Legends....;)

Well, I made it to Sol thru Riftspace. Wow, What a trip! I spent over 2 hours trying various ways of landing on Earth but alas, the fireworks were abundant lol.

but those g*dd*mn defences don't. at least; not anymore. how can you make earth a little less restricted?

but mercenaries looks very good! much better then legends (my opinion)

first you need to get yourself a mantis jumpdrive, or you'll need a whole lot of patience. and don't forget: at least 1700 gallons of fuel.

(this is how I did it.)
go to the lambda system and fly to sector -1259, -2 ,-1879

There you can refuel at the non-volcanic planet if you need to.

then move on to sector 1598, 0, 2048. this is a jumpgate which leads to Riftspace.
when you're in Riftspace, one of the black holes leads to Sol. And be careful; Riftspace is Vonari-territory.

Yeah, I got to the Rift Space gate via Orion. Used a 1200 Gallon tank, of which there was about 300 left when I got there.

As far as landing on Earth goes, well, I'm still trying!

It's an archaic term used for hundreds of years up to the 24th century. Still used occassionaly as a slang term to indicate units of fuel.
