 That ship is now halfway (literally) to Andromeda. Some very odd associations have developed along the way.

:o Say what? Now that you mention it, though, I did see an Eclipse with lower-than-expected stats on R1 this morning.

You're going to Andromeda? O.o

You get there the same way as in Legends? (it is not part of the quest to find Rift Space, that may not mean it is noth there)

 Made it. Bleary-eyed. Can't build a station nearby ... even though I see lots of other stations in the area. Might just be a bug ... I'll try again later. Discussed a possible exploit with Eclipse and I might test that out after New Years. The nebula mod for Andromeda is just the coolest thing ... too bad it uses up the only 360 (panorama) nebula slot.

 Oh ... and not to worry, Denny. I cloned myself and sent the clone (Marvin E) on the trip. Built stations along the way ... but didn't find a single planet between Vonarian and Andromeda. Ratz.

Well, a worthwhile exploration regardless. Well'have to go for the Rift Space hole one day or another to add it to log... you never know when it can turn out useful.

:o Well, to be honest ... I might've passed up one planet when halfway to Andromeda. It was just a small dot in my rear viewscreen and most liklely nothing more than a slight distortion of the stars (it can happen when jumping for three or four hours at a time). So, I don't really know ... I was too tired to turn around and try to catch it.

 Using Atollski's Nav Tracker, I no longer pass up unexplored planets ... 'though I often find myself in empty space, chasing down planets that are actually within known star systems (and, therefore, easily reached via jumpgate). The only thing I'd have Atoll add to his tracker is a clock ... 'cause I find I've often passed up lunch and/or dinner while glued to the monitor, waiting to cross from a known border to an unknown one.

Originally, Denny and I had planned to do some exploring … giving Denny the opportunity to test out Atollski’s navigation program. But our third member, Starbuck, logged on prior to Denny and so I figured we could take the time (waiting for Denny) to populate a star system I’d previously discovered with a slew of Starbuck trade stations and coffee shops. Coincidentally, it looked like some other guild had taken control of said star system and I was curious as to how that takeover had come about.

The system in question is a bit far flung … about ten minutes (by Denny’s reckoning) from the nearest known system. On arrival, I was reminded why it was I’d abandoned any attempt to claim the system for IM … nobody there liked us. It was (and still is) a very hostile system. So we left … Starbuck for the safety of off-line play while Denny (who finally joined us) and I retreated to the Talison War Zone.

One of the new guys was already docked at the WZ station near the jumpgate. So, instead of beginning our planned excursion into galactic exploration, we decided to help out the new guy and do a couple military contracts.

More pilots joined in … not the least of them being members of other guilds. I turned them all from red to green. Leastwise, I did for the first group to join in. Evidently, as more pilots joined the chase, I lost count.

It was, I believe, during an escort contract where I heard ProPain complain about being hit by friendly fire. He named me as the culprit. Keep in mind, this was while we were busy protecting a capital ship. So, naturally, I assumed ProPain had gotten between me and the Vonari currently in my sights. Trouble was, ProPain kept transmitting a “cease and desist message and the Vonari refused to die … didn’t even seem to be taking much damage. So I began to wonder what type of Vonari ship could take such a pounding.

Need I state the obvious? Luckily, the situation was corrected prior to any permanent damage to either ship or personnel.

LOL, that was so much fun last night. I did the same thing the night before to the XSYS guy's.
Jumped in and started to help them, almost killing them before I realized my mistake.:o

Alright, well it's been a while since I played, and I'm looking around for a clan to join. I used to be with the Universe Explorers, but since it's a fresh game and I haven't been in a clan for a while, I figured it might be a good idea to reconsider who I'm flying with. I'd fly solo but I'm too terrified. XD So I figured I'd stop by this clan and see about joining, since when I first joined here playing Legends, the choice of clan was a very tough one between Explorers and Merchants. I flew with the Explorers in Legends, so maybe I could fly with you guys in Mercenary? :D

 Sure. We aren't as prolific or rich as some of the other clans but, if you tag your name with the [IM] logo while on the R1 server, you'll find yourself picking up a nice 101,000 credits every cycle. And I can probably point you towards a few "open range" territories with nothing but an IM station near them ... in case you want to add to our holdings.

Thanks guys! I've changed my name to include the tag (At least I'm assuming that's how you change your tag, that's how it worked in Legends), and I look forward to flying with you!

Sweet! When I connected just now I got a partial payment of 2100 credits, but it's good to know I'll be given a payment every cycle!

UPDATE: Okay, well I've found out how system payment cycles work now. They seem to be linked proportinally to your rating number. So for instance, when I logged on earlier I was rating 11, and got 2100 credits. After doing some contracts, I rose to 16 rating, and got 2600 credits per payment cycle. Currently, I'm at 19 rating, and got payments of 2900 credits per cycle.

So it looks like each pilot gets 1000 credits base per cycle, plus 100 credits for every point of rating you've achieved. Interesting stuff!

That would definitely be awesome :D

 Oasis, you'd get lost trying to find where it is that IM operates. By the time new members venture in your direction, they should be able to take care of themselves ... and have ships comparable to yours.

 Possibly not. Our territory, up by the Vonari border, has changed ... it now offers combat contracts. No need to wander back down where you prowel for n00bs.

:o Territory up there keeps changing. I had a friendly Vonari interceptor escort me halfway back to Talison. Very strange.
