[EM] Reaganaut Cockpit Mod

Trade in style... 80's style! This Wall Street-inspired cockpit embodies the essence of success, featuring the finest stained rosewood, accented with brushed stainless steel and black marble.

Reaganaut Cockpit Mod

All thanks and most credit to Vice for this amazing game and the base cockpit, and to Ijon for the Perch mod files and help on the forum.

This cockpit is essentially a modified version of Vice's EM original with elements from Ijon's Perch cockpit. I removed all flooring from the cockpit included in the customization kit to open the view and make it feel a bit less cramped. A few props (joysticks, seat, main info screens) are copied from Ijon's Perch cockpit. The whole cockpit is carefully retextured. Other props (phone, keyboard and briefcase) are public domain 3D models I modified to fit in the cockpit. All textures and images are drawn from Google image searches, some with slight alterations by me. The HUD is my custom ThinHUD v2.

I've included the complete .mqo files if anybody wants to load up Metasequoia and customize even further.

 That has got to be the Executive Suite of private space ships. The only thing missing is the Lear logo.

Well, oh well. I seem to have found my new cockpit. I shall use this in combination with your HUD!

Superb work, my friend! Absolutely the coziest looking cockpit I've seen ;)

Downloading it now.

I like to think the briefcase is filled with unmarked bills to buy "baseball cards". Either that, or chicken salad on a kaiser roll.

Kikoni, I'm glad to hear you like the cockpit and HUD. I added some bits to the HUD yesterday (toolbar and main screens), so you might want to check it out again. The whole interface feels quite unified now.

 Actually, IM takes unmarked bills at any of our local Starbucks and Denny's.

Thanks for this HUD. I've been using it for over a week and its my favorite custom HUD so far. I've used almost all of them for periods of time but this one has grown on me. The only thing I added was another HUD's strafe symbol (the triangular one, light blue); I can see it better and with the horizontal strafe with this one I can see it against white and dark backgrounds.

Thanks again

Thanks for the input, Hank. I'll take a look at the strafe indicator and see if I can improve it.

I noticed that there wasn't an MDTS Lock indicator on the HUD, so I had to stop using it. I often accidentally trip my L key and turn MDTS off, so it's hard to see if it's on or not. Therefore the on/off indicator is necessary for me.

It's a shame, because I fell in love with this HUD very quickly. Do you think, perhaps, that you could add a version with an optional MDTS Lock indicator? It would be immensely appreciated.

Thanks again for the awesome HUD and Cockpit, my friend.

Sure, I can restore the MDTS indicator. It may take me a day or two to make a good one. I'm thinking a small tab attached to the top of the gunsight, between the white marks bounding the forward shield arc indicator. If the indicator is visible and white, MDTS is on, no indicator means it's off and a red indicator means locked on and in range, sound good?

 The MDTS indicator is a lone wolf ... not part of the main HUD pipper display. Check to see if you've inserted blanks for mdts1, mdts2 and mdtsshadow.

Copy each of these .png images and rename them mdts1.png, mdts2.png and mdtsshadow.png. Overwrite the files with the same names in your HUD folder.
