building stations in Andromeda

Has any one had any success building a trading station in Andromeda? Or is it just too far? :)

I think Vice stopped the ability to build stations there as was not sure if Andromeda would continue to exist. Although I could be wrong again:D.

I believe that Andromeda has no economy, so building stations there allows players to get any item for free...so IIRC Vice decided to prohibit station building there.

I built a station in Andromeda about a year or so ago. The prices were high, as I recall, so the economy was high at the time.

However, when I came back to that sector, the station was surrounded by reds. Who knows where they all came from. Vonari, if I recall correctly.

Seeing as the station was serving enemy interests, I blew it up. I have not attempted to rebuild there. It could be impossible now. It was possible, though, at one time.

I think TBird has the right of it. Nigel, there have been two major server-side "station wipes" that I know of. Possibly after the last one was when Vice "closed off" Andromeda, as that location isn't part of the story-line for Mercenary, as it was for Legends. Now, Andromeda is more of a "tourist trap" than anything else. Nice place to visit, no place to stay. :(

Thanks for the info. It leads to a secondary question,wierd, but there is some method to my madness :D

Has anyone managed to build a trade station around 20K or more along any of the three axes? :)

Trade stations you can build within 50k of each axis/direction from the center of a sector! Now if you are talking about Andromeda Galaxy then I have no Idea...have not tried building anything there. And why would I need 3 axes, I have not seen any forests in Andromeda!.....;):P:cool:

Sorry - not being clear: I'm talking about sector coordinates, not positional within sector coordinates. I can't build a trade station in SX=22 000 SY=0 SZ=0; (or any SX further East) - it was fine in SX=18 000

Average speed has dropped from 45 sectors per minute to 23 sector per minute because I now have to spend 45 minutes refuelling DeepSpaceTwo using a deployed fuel processor.

I wonder if this is also why I can't build trade stations in Andromeda.

ahhh... you're the pilot of DeepSpaceTwo. I wondered who that was way out in the middle of nowhere. Interesting that you can't build stations out there... good thing you took a deploy constructor with you. If you ran out of fuel it would be a looooong time before a rescue party reached you!

Wow, SX=22,000? I thought the EvoVerse went up to 9999, 9999, 9999 and that is where Remula One is Stationed, wow your really in to deep space. Interresting to know that you can build Stations in SX=18,000. If my calculations are correct you then should be able to build up to Sector 19999 can you go back 2001 Sectors and see if you can build a Station within the 50K limit of Sector SX= 19999, 0, 0...;):P:P:P:P:P

Don't want to build a trade station for being a trade station! I want to save 45 minutes evrytime I have to refuel (every 2000 sectors) by not having to use a fuel processor! :D

I'm now @ sX=91500 - nothing exciting happened @ sX= 50000 so I have high hopes for sX>999999 since the nav map only accepts 6 digits per axis!

9999 9999 9999 isn't actually very far out - Andromeda is @ sY=28000!

:D

You might also be interested to know that beyond sX=25000 there are no hostiles (only changing ghost planets and thousands of Talons selling Gorfburgers (I assume that's what they are doing - why else would they be out here near "Gorf's Ghost Planet"?)
