Yes I'm in. The only thing that could stop me being there, is if I'm recalled for duty.

Ok, I'll meet in the center, but I need to figure out a way to go from the center to somewhere else inside the sector in under 5 secs. :P;) I don't like Targets though! Especially when they are me. ;):P:P:P

Jump and Stay close to the Edge of the Sector. Living on the Edge might save your live!...
Cause when they come for you and jump to your location on the Edge they might slide in Inertia mode over the Edge and out of sector and they are done and out of the game......Geeeeeeez another strategy given away!...If only I could keep my mouth shut or fingers from the Keyboard...LOL...;):P

Some one needs to monitor the sector borders very carefully because the referee might not notice when somebody slides out of the sector on inertia instead of jumping out!;):P

:o Jumping or sliding ... doesn't make much difference. MMaggio's Chat Log doesn't give an indication of either one.

One of the refs probably needs to key the tilde key on lock down to monitor player locations.

Since this is a test run kind of event, I'm sure the kinks will need to be worked out for subsequent endeavors.

I have added Bleve to the list of competitors. Since I moved the start day to this coming Sunday to accommodate his appearance, I don't know how I missed that. In my defense, my attention to detail has never been...what was I talking about?

No worries mate!
Just let me know if there is anything more that needs to be done.
Yes, when people ask that we make rules to use only Trebuchet Cannon, or hold the competition underwater, or fight by ramming each other only, you tell them "NO."
Darn it - there goes my first, second and third secret strategy!:P

Hey Lexor - no ramming -hee hee hee

ps confidentially, so no one else knows, can I use a deployed shield?

I think we stay with the rules posted by Dingo and all players remove their clan tags.

I suggest that we all meet up in the center of the sector.
When Busch starts the event guns are cold for 5 sec allowing all pilots to get moving.
Then all weapons are hot.
who's five seconds?

How's about all of us start outside the sector and at the zero of a referee count down jump in to what ever micro-coordinate we choose?

It'll be bad enough getting blasted in the first few seconds with out getting iti n the back trying to create some space, while some clever bug### sits in the centre and picks you off! :P

It might if I'm nowhere near it but every one else is looking into it! . . . or perhaps not! :P

It worked with LexOR for quite a while, but I did end up having to use stealth

Why can't we use stealth? - my Vonari generator (picked up from a crippled cruiser) lasts for less than 600 seconds :) It wouldn't extend the rounds too much. LMS should be about being the LMS, not being the hottest gun in the West. . . . or perhaps not :P

Stealth would indeed be very interesting. Too bad Dingo made it against the rules. Ah well, maybe next time.

How about a prize for the first man / woman blown up. I think I realistically stand a far better chance of winning the booby prize than the main prize. LOL.

SeeJay, et. al. : acknowledged.

May I suggest the constructing of a station, w/shield array installed, in the center of the "field". Thereby establishing start location and a neutral zone. FASP/FARP for referee/ rescue/recovery needs. Upon the instant of the shield array construction completion, the "match" begins. Suggest 5 sec delay, and will announce begin verbally over voice-chat (?). Could also fire a broadside cannonade with the primarys, but affeared it would not be seen by all. The List is impressive. There is some REAL talent assembled. This is gonna be FUN! :P:P:P :cool:

The "Ruptured Duck" award sounds about right for the first pilot out. :P:P:P:P:P ;)

Did a stroll-by of the "bloody field". Good choice, Ding. Think what I'll do instead of the above, is deploy a sensor array at ground zero (-5/0/-5). The instant of the deployment starts the 5-second clock. Then, I'll give the command for open fire, and retire to a near-by station and stand-by the scopes, so-to-speak. :) How's that ?

I think I can rearrange for this Sunday - I'd originally planned for next. However, looking that the lineup I think that if you blink you'll miss me!

My strategy is going to be simply to stay alive as long as possible and if I get a hit on anyone it'll be a bonus!

Is 15:00 EST the same starting time as the Rally - 20:00 UCT?

It sounds like it's going to be fun! Stealth allowed next time, pretty please. I probably wouldn't last longer, but I like the whirry noise it makes!

Yep, same time as the rally. The problem with stealth is that one could stay alive literally forever. It sounds like fun, but would really be a who runs out of gas last competition.

Now, a different kind of event that is a team manhunt, with one player that is stealth capable trying to survive against a group of hunters, across the entire quadrant, that would be a fun way to use stealth!

To keep people interested in hunting rather than hiding I'm rewarding
50 mil for each kill to all pilots.

OK - I see where you're coming from on stealth, but my experience is that it only lasts a few minutes (around 5 with my load out), you have to wait ages for a recharge and have weak shields whilst you are recharging so there are major decisions to make about when and if to use it. :)

Sorry to hear that, I don't know if I can reschedule again for this one, but future events are in the planning, so come out then!

Ideas for future events so far

1. Manhunts - One player tries to evade capture across whole quadrant
2. FFA with pilots and gunners, no missiles.

Will start a thread soon for EM'ers to post event ideas. See what the community can come up with.
