What is the Advantage of a Station License?

I was wondering what advantages do you get by buying a station license?
Secondly, can you sell your station license?

You buy protection and you get discounts buying stuff at that Station. Make sure the Station you buy a license for is in a Low Tech Area. It is good for trading, you buy at discount and sell at another station you do not have a license for in a High Tech Area to maximize your profit.

No, you can not sell your License, only cancel it!......

It's better and cheaper to just build your own station. Like when you build your own station I think you only have to pay 100k and when you built it you have a license to that station for free

o and for "free" fuel just get a fuel converter and sit near the sun or in a cloud or in a gas planet with your beam on and you will get fuel for free.

A few systems you will see a station near the sun. I made those so I can anyone else can just sit in them and fill up then take off. That and if you need to walk away you can. (you don't have to be facing the sun to fill up)

It's not a good idea to store things in a player station hangar - player staions can get destroyed (along with your store of treasures)

Buy a build constructor and you just use that to create a variety of stations and processors - no raw materials needed

You can store ships/items at any station or city for a fee. (including your own stations).

You just need to buy a build constructor. Then you can build anywhere according to the build rules.
- It must be at least 1 empty sector between trade stations.
- The other stations can be build in the same sector as a trade station. (Raises tech level of the trade station).
- You must build within 50K in all three directions from the center of a sector.
(Fully zoomed in that means the square surrounding the center).
- You can not move your ship during the build time (Counter on screen).
(You can rotate your ship around but don't use the throttle).

That's not a 100% true. If you build the station in SP then it wont. When you switch computers I think there is a file that you move over and it holds the info on the stations you build in SP.

anyways as everyone said you get a constructor. You should build everything the constructor lets you. It will let you have high tech stuff and it will let you take full advantage of things.

As you get better and richer, the contracts you are offered get harder and are worth more . . . . but . . . .

the cost of stations gets higher too - In Pearl I was considering building a trade station near to Oasis Station since the Reavers had destroyed the one that was there - cost was just under half a billion credits (yes billion!)

You would need a lot of trading to make that back!!

I wonder how many trade runs you would have to do to break even? You would have to add the replacement costs of the many ship frames you would wear out!
