Civilian Frame PvP Tournament

Post by Dingo »

It's time to customize the low-riders and wade into battle!

Or at least I am thinking of sponsoring a civilian frame PvP tournament. Why? Why not!?

We quibble endlessly over the best Military frames, now it's time to do the same over the civvies.

Any takers? Thoughts on prizes and format?

Civilian Frame PvP Tournament

Post by DaveK »

Under the callsign "Incoming" I played properly (perhaps improperly would be a better way of saying it) on MP last night for the first time. Sorry to SeeJay for attacking him - I thought that the bumping in the station was an attack on me (Oasis style) and SeeJay was the only one around! It was also magic to be rescued from inside the asteroid cave (thanks Z3r0! :) ) - in the past it has had to be destruct and reload!

I also followed the chat with interest, especially Cindy's combat lesson.

I might be wrong, but combat jocks appear to only use mil frames. The 10 seconds of "combat" with SeeJay before I was dust showed that experience plus a mil frame are way, way beyond my skills! (I ambushed him, got in lots of hits and a full pack of Excals and still got fried whilst I was holding my first breath!! Usually either take down a non-mil hostile on the first pass))

I would like to join a clan (if anyone will have me :D) of the peaceful, helpful sort who make the Universe a better place to live in :P, get some combat skills sorted (I'll be looking for lessons from some kind souls). Making the assumption that civ vs civ will be at least make it possible in theory for me to last longer than 10 secs is attractive. The opportunity to try PvP without having to work up to a decent Mil frame sounds like a great offer! :D

Don't mind about prizes - final ranking and the fun will be enough. I hope that newbies and inexperienced sign up as well as rekitted combat fiends! :P

Clan [UE] is a (mostly) peaceful Clan but we do have a fighter wing (run by [UE]Rush) so pilots can upgrade their the fighting skills.;)

 IM is peaceful. But, if you want to contribute to our wealth, you must be willing to work contracts out in the boonies.

Hey, some of you guys above me, advertise for your clans elsewhere :P This is about glory and honor and eternal whatever.

SeeJay, Mecingo, and Dave K. I have you in the tournament, but unless its more than the fourof us, I don't think we're getting much in terms of action. lol.

Everybody else, c'mon, sign up. You can't seriously be so enthralled with your endless delivery missions that you can't take time to blow each other up in a civilized manner.

Cindy,

Might as well join. Nobody knows who is best in a civilian frame, and no matter who actually wins, it won't really be settled anyway. It is just for fun. The more, the merrier. It won't even happen unless we can get at least 10 or so participants.

Yeah we have been a bit PvP happy lately. But that's how I like it. A last pilot standing FFA would be fun too!

 Well, "last pilot standing" works a bit differently. You'd need to have each player start in a different system and not save prior to engaging. That way, when a dead player spawns, he/she won't get in the way of the survivors.

That would be very fun indeed. Too bad we can't get too many on at once with all the timezones we have in evochron international.

Mecingo, this is whenever we have enough participants and we can gather in at least 2's. Most likely will have to be done in stages.

Great Star Master! Added you to list Three more and we can start this thing!

I think the prize will be 1 billion for first place, 500 million for second, and 250 million for third. I will provide the prize myself. I have worked up enough cash to cover all prizes and bounties I have going out there. About 25 billion, tho I hope that nobody wins ALL of them lol.

Oh, but if I win, someone else has to pay my prize. Volunteers?
