what files do i back up to hang onto my profiles?

seems I severly damaged my windows registry and the best option to me right now is to revert to an old image i made of my laptop. unfortunately, I did not have evochron at that time, and I must now back up my profiles. which files do I need to back up to do this?

I'm not sure of the exact files; to be safe, you can just copy all the files in the save directory (all with .sw extension).
At the very least the pilot0.sw, pilot1.sw, etc. The maplog*.sw contain your map log, which may or may not be useful to you.

The default save directory I believe is something like c:\\sw3dg\\.....
Or it can be specified to another location by placing a file named savedir.txt which contains that location, in the game's installation directory.

I'm new to the game as well, so take all these with a grain of salt. I _believe_ this is correct, but I am not 100% sure.
