0 Cargo bug?

0 Cargo bug?

I found a strange bug where a cargo slot says it has 0 items but is yet occupied by something.

Kinda hard to explain so you can look at the picture.

but I got this by pressing alt and left clicking on an item to merge it into another slot.

Your pic shot is a bit on the blurred side. But, if the first item in your cargo hold is "Food", you only have 20 of them, not 25, as specified in the distress call.

Incidentally; why are you carrying all that rubbish in your cargo holds? Go out to Pearl and collect some stuff that is worth real trading money.

Obviously wants to be a responder to distress calls. There is no time to pick that stuff up on the way. I usually find that even if I have the stuff, I usually arrive a second or two too late. I think maybe the distress call time should be lengthened, but I imagine that I'll get in trouble for that.

I think Vice is basing the response time on his ability to respond.
He forgot that he has a decided "edge" and that his response time is not a fair gage. I agree, at least another 10 seconds per call.
As the server operator, I would like to see them less often on the "low" setting.
More pilots ignore them then feel they can respond in time.
And currently, they just add to message clutter. Imho.

:o Check your log from earlier today, MMaggio. About six or seven resupply distress calls popped up, one after another. They didn't stop until a rescue mission ended the wonky bit of nonsense (the resupply missions only specified a location ... not an item).

The original resolution was 1920X1080, but I had to reduce the resolution and compress the crap out of it to get it under the forums tiny image size upload restriction. (I'm amazed any software still has the capabilities to write files that small these days ;) )

But the cargo was from 6 fighters that made the mistake of being a red dot on my radar... :) I was combining the 2 "Mach" cargo slots in hopes of getting an additional slot free to pick up a crate containing metal. but instead of the free slot I get 1 mach slot at 25 and one mach slot at 0... so a slot is taken, but there is nothing in it.

so yeah, the distress call has nothing to do with the problem. ;)

Hi and welcome ouch.

Try to just left click on the bay with Mach = 0. That should dump it to space and show as empty.

Well my concern is that it shouldn't be there to begin with.

who knows how vice has this "if 0 remove occupied cargo slot" bit of code set up in the game. Stations possibly might generate a product for sale with no actual products to buy for instance.

Best to report the issue I figured than ignore it.

But Yeah, I can get rid of it easy enough.
