So my friend downloaded the demo to see if he wants to buy the game (mercenary). After having some issues, we discovered the reason for his error-less crashing was the resolution. At 1280X800 it runs fine, but anything higher than that crashes after loading 100%. Even 1440x900, the resolution I play the game at doesn't work, and his computer is better than mine. I've included his DXdiag basic info so we have an accurate spec list to work with.
His specs are:
Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.110408-1631)
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.

Available OS Memory: 8190MB RAM

He has over 5 gigs of ram free during the testing.

Higher resolutions require more memory, so odds are, something else running in the background is blocking a region of memory the game needs for the higher resolution. If you/he would like me to review the system for possible causes, following the steps here: http://www.starwraith.com/evochronmercenary/faq.htm#8
