Hello & a question!

First of all hello!

I just discovered the Evochron series, Ive only put about 3 hours into Mercenary so far, but it seems like this is the game ive been dreaming of for years! Really impressed with the atmosphere and level of Immersion.

So Ive stumbled on an asteriod with what seems to be a cave. I went in to explore but its much too dark. I recall seeing headlights in the trailer, and I did do a forum search, but all I found was reference that Vice included it in a patch. Have not been able to find the hotkey for it. Can anyone enlighten me?

Hello and welcome. Glad you're enjoying the game. Your ship is equipped with a spotlight on its nose for dark cave exploration and it turns on automatically once the light level reaches a minimum level (as you enter the cave from the entrance). You'll see a message like 'low level light mode activated' appear in the message log and the spotlight will activate. The light will shine where you point your ship.

Ahh, thanks for the replies.

I was too afraid to enter the darkness - Didnt want to colide with something and explode - Ive had all sorts of untimley deaths in my short play time, haha..

To be honest an eternity of singing praises and feeling ecstatic would only appeal because the fire and brimstone is such a poor offer as an alternative.

Personally given a choice I would opt for Plan C!
