Folks
Just trying to get back into the swing but was a bit confused when I loaded up 1.4 that my X52 was all over the place.
OK in Windows, but checked again this morning after reboot and a long rest and I noticed that I have now got 2 devices available to me. Device 1 does nothing and I cannot even map it but when I selected Device 2, all OK.
So where did the second device come from? Now maybe I added it inadvertently when I connected my PS3 controller to charge. OK, but how do I get rid of the "device" that I don't want? I really don't want top go into settings everytime and select "Device 2".
And, Muchtalk, its still not a paperweight, and Max, what a great HUD. Thanks.

Yeah, plugging ih the PS 3 controller is what did it, but I don't know how to undo it.
Good Luck!

you might try starting game with control devices disconected, then exit game, reconect control device and restart game, maybee it will default to device 1
just an idea, dont know for sure if this will help.
if not you can ask vice, he may need to correct your saved profile

Some devices push others out of their assigned slots in Windows (CH products for example). The PS3 controller apparently did the same. There are a couple of options. If you plan to leave it plugged in, you can manually edit the keymap8.sw and stickt.sw files and change the '0' values before the comma in the entries that have it to '1'. That will change the device assignment in the game from '1' to '2' without having to rebind the controls in the game. The other option you can try is setting the X52 as your 'preferred' device. In Windows 7, click on Start > Devices and Printers > Right click on the X52 device > Game Controller Settings > highlight the X52 > Advanced > Select the X52 and click OK. If the PS3 device forces its way into slot 1, then the controls will need to be adjusted for the new device assignment.

Thanks Vice
I will give the first option a go, as I still have XP
