Questions on exploring

Post by Resist »

Newbie update and questions:
Got my rep up a level in Olympus and set out to explore.

I've come across 3 systems with Letter+3numbers that aren't on SeeJay's list and one named system that isn't on any list or the quadrant map. Each one shows a different rep with the factions there. So my question is: If I explore these areas will there always be hidden/unknown planets somewhere within their borders? Seems like there has to be populations somewhere inside for me to have rep with. Any help appreciated and any suggestions for finding them wanted.

 The system name, as indicated in the upper-left corner of the nav map, will always be the name of the planet closest to the player. So, if you've run across a planet not listed at MapMan's website, then it's probably undiscovered. Grab Atollski's program, find the planet, find its star and then "transmit" your information to SeeJay.

Strange place this named new system. Figured out from navigating one of SeeJay's unknown systems how to navigate there and went back to the new named system.

Saw Energy and Navy ships in open space before actually entering the system. Once inside the system rep went to Good and all factions show ------

Found the star and one planet so far. Was filling up with fuel at the star when a red 'Unknown' popped in. Afterburnered away and saved. Tomorrow will be interesting!!!!! :)

Hi Resist.

The map we created have the systems named after what system you're in when you are at
a stars location. Planets in the vicinity may show a different "system" name but it belongs
to the closest star system name.

You can always search my and mapmans site for the planet name that you stumbled on
and it will show what system it belongs to. If you don't get a hit on that search, you have found an
undiscovered planet/system. There is a form on my http://evochron.junholt.se site that you can
report findings with. Always make sure you send the nearest star information as well.

I'll double check any findings before publishing it so we don't publish stuff that isn't there.
Don't send info about player build stations. I don't publish those since they can be destroyed.

I do have some systems that haven't been published yet. I'm saving them for future purposes!;)

Catch you later mate.

Thanks SeeJay!

Haven't decided what to report on this system yet. It seems special so I'll be doing some exploring first. I'm trying to decide atm whether or not to give away spoilers from exploring. Love game tips and strategy type tips in the forums but to post locations of new systems seems like a major spoiler to the explorer in me. (I'm an older explorer from elite and privateer days :P )

You could use the form on my site or u2u me.

Then it's not a spoiler here in the forum (We don't post stuff like that here).
The program/website is optional for people to use.

You could u2u the name of what you got and I'll take a look if it's in there yet!;)

 You can still report the new system at SeeJay's website. If you want SeeJay to keep your discovery a secret, just say so in the "Notes" part of the report. Mums the word and SeeJay can keep a secret.
