Hiya all,

Just purchased the game 10$ I figured nothing to lose and the game looked very promising.

Started my addiction with space sims on C64 and Elite..good stuff.

Anyway I had questions but believe if I do a search most have been asked and answered I imagine so I will look there first before posting.

See you all in space! :)

Think I messed up I thought the game I purchased was the latest game.

Is the newer game the better choice?

Man up and pay the extra 10 bucks to this website. Support your starving game developers! :D

Besides, renegades isn't a bad game at all, so you haven;t wasted your money.

I won't man up but I might woman up lol...think hubby would be disappointed if I went the other route.

Never said it was a waste of money just on a tight budget is all.

I may have to do that soon as I can actually fly etc, pretty sad when my science ops says there is containers and gives me some info on where to find it and I have a "deer in headlights look" thing going on.

Looks like I need to do the training video again..buggers.

 Quickly finding floating containers, via your science officer's directions, is a skill you won't find in the training vids. I think Gorf and a few others have perfected the technique, though ... you might want to ask around.

I must have been close to the location as he/she did not give me x,y location rather it was pitch and something else (I think)?

"Welcome Aboard Aria"....That would be pitch and compass heading you need to follow....keep your eye on your radar for a purple blip to show up then head for it......the containers blip will show up when you are 10,000m from them ;)

Well I have (thanks to some awesome tips for mining posted on the forums) managed to get about 300k I upgraded my ship think I ran out of build points however.

As of now I have 5 cargo slots now, new wings, engine and fuel tank. I am a miner trader mostly so for now I did not worry about armor or weapons upgrades.

Any tips?

Yes! Get on line quickly and meet the other "girls"!
Pehaps you all can create a new clan?
At least, you will meet some fine people who will help you with 'tips" or spoilers.

I will be honest I normally am not much into the multi player aspect unless its in a MMO, that being said I may at some point try multi but for the moment I want to learn the game and get little more comfortable with it.

Is the game specifically made for multi play or is the solo play also well designed?

Soloplay is pretty much the same as Multiplay, only the pilots you meet are less helpful and chatty.

Hi Aria, welcome to Evochron!

There are lots of good prospects for miner/traders if you know where to go! *minor spoiler* When you are feeling confident enough you should try looking around the Pearl system.

Altho, Mercenary is not an MMO, it does has certain advantages.
First & foremost, it is FREE! If you feel more comfortable paying a monthly fee, certain arrangements can be made.
Another advantage is you will meet some of the nicest pilots in all gamedom, all eager to help and guide you on your way.
And, if you are lucky, the server itself may actually speak to you!
Yet another advantage to MP is the ability to share in contracts both in the danger and the profits. You can even "merge" with another player and be a turret gunner or vice versa, both in the same ship.
There are even more oppotunities available in MP, but I don't want to seem "pushy" !
Remember, if you are uncomfortable, you can always hit the exit key.
I know there are a few ladies out there who are anxious to meet you.
