Hi everyone,
Bit of a problem that has appeared out of the blue.
I was just playing EM online, mining the free crate inside the asteroid next to Outpost 5. I thought I'd log the position, but somehow managed to not log my exact position. The log entry appeared empty with only "X=>" in it... so I right clicked to delete it and try again. The game then froze (with a full hold of Platinum!)
Had to alt-tab out and close the game manually using task manager.
Reloaded back into the game, said hello to the server people, pressed F1 to try again and as the map appeared the game froze again. This has happened both in SP and MP since trying again.
I'm currently redownloading 1.208 to try that out.
Any other ideas?
Required info:
EM v1.220 (latest version Vice uploaded)
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo P7250 (2GHz)
GPU: nVidia 9600M GS
RAM: 3GB
Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit
EDIT: Downgrading to 1.208 did not fix the problem.
EDIT 2: Uninstalling and reinstalling hasn't helped either
EDIT 3: Only the navmap causes this. I can fly around, access the inventory without crashing. F1 brings the game to a halt.

That is pretty strange. I guess one possible cause might be that the maplog file you have associated with your profile became corrupt somehow. Try temporarily renaming or moving all of your maplog files in the save data folder and see if the problem goes away. If it does, I'd be interested in seeing the files to determine what might have happened to it/them.

Hi Vice,
I moved the maplog file out of the folder and it appears to have fixed it, cheers!
Where would you like the maplog file emailing to?

Ok, thoroughly annoying now.
Tried to make a new log for the map, and it did exactly the same "X=>" thing. Tried to delete and it froze again.

So the freeze occured right when you tried to delete an entry? If so, that'll help pin down the possible cause. Just to confirm, adding an entry works fine, but the freezing occurs when trying to delete an entry only?
Edit: I just finished testing your maplog and it all worked fine for me, even when not entering any value for a description. So perhaps it is something system specific. I'd be interested in a msinfo report on your computer. Are you possibly trying to enter any special characters? Or maybe exiting the maplog entry screen without enter?

Nah Shawn, it didn't even get that far. It did originally freeze when I tried to delete a log entry, but then opening the nav screen would cause the game to freeze completely. I didn't even get as far adding or deleting new logs. From post: 101831, Topic: tid=7251, author=Vice wrote: So the freeze occured right when you tried to delete an entry? On the plus side, the maplog you sent me has fixed the issue for me.
You still want the msinfo log?

Nah, not if the problem is fixed with the corrected maplog. Perhaps it was something carried over from an older build. There was some maplog updating that took place a few updates ago.On the plus side, the maplog you sent me has fixed the issue for me.
