Game not starting under Win 7 (x649

Hello,

Just downloaded the demo for Mercenary and was looking forward to testing it since I've been looking for a good space sim lately.

When I try to open the demo nothing happens. The process is visible in the task manager but soon it just disappears.

I have a Radeon 3870HD graphics card and 2.82 Gb of free memory (according to MSINFO32)

I tried Evochron Legends demo and it starts just fine.

Thanks for the reply! I have been reading all related issues but apparently the windows update was on win7 versions other than english. Since I have an english version I guessed this didn't relate to me.

I'll check if I have this installed though!

I'll try that tomorrow. I live in Sweden and got the windows version from Microsoft Academic Alliance. The version is in english but I guess somehow there might be some swedish in it after all!

I'll post my progress tomorrow!

I tried the steps from the other thread with uninstalling the security update. No luck!

Any other ideas?
