Will do. I've never used the webcam mic thus never thought it was a possibile issue... I'm tearing it apart from my system.

Shutting down NOD32 proved to be harder than I thought.... I'm having a look at their site and a google search about this.

Tried what suggested...in a sort of manner. Shutting down the antivirus proved to be impossibile so I was limited to deactivating the protection hoping to save some memory.

The firewall was a bitch and I had to put it in game mode first and then kill the process from the task manager.

Result of the test, I didn't got to 1.5 GB of available memory and nothing changed in game apart that I saw Marvin callsign flashing briefly when he was trying to communicate.

Marv, can you see how much free memory you have and post it?

We're basically on the same machine so that might help if your voice comms works.

:o I was on BA's TeamSpeak today with Oasis and, later on, Bossk and Dengar (I think). All transmissions came in loud and clear ... both ways. So maybe your garbled transmissions on Sunday had something to do with your new ISP.

Just follow the procedure Vice told me... scroll back some posts and you'll get it.

The program is MSINFO32 to launch from the run option in the start menu. No need to install anything.

:o Running the program turned master sound control to zero ... don't know why that happens but it happened once before when I was using an audio adjustment program. Since I was only doing a system memory check this time, it took awhile to track down the problem. Caused me to lose a half hour of game time!

Edit: 596 MB used. 1,450 MB available.

Strange...that's a built in reporting tool.... maybe it's a clue?

However, youve more spare memory than me...that may be the problem.

Well... next year I'll see if I can get a new system...or I'll expand my RAM.

I don't seem to be able to get rid of NOD32 and COMODO Firewall... I can force some resource saving, but not kill the process. Security is a good thing... but not when it hamper you in entering your home...

The problem may also be with the audio system. If I haven't asked this before, how fast is your internet connection? When you press and hold the chat key, does the game slow down at all? That is, if you hold the chat key, does the framerate drop to a low value? Also, if you continue to hold it down for maybe 30 seconds, does it intermittently flicker or just stay off completely?

I didn't noticed any slow down when pressing the chat key but I never tried holding it for more than 10 second to say so. I'll give it a try holding it longer but my connection is working good, here are the result of www.speedtest.net and www.pingtest.net right now:

2GB of RAM don't seem to be enough to leave 1.5 free for the game on my system, after I decide if I can afford an entire new system or not, the problem will be fixed by the new system itself or by the added RAM.... provided memory is the problem.

 Make sure you put the RAM in the correct slots. Make sure its paired. And make sure your OS actually sees the additional RAM (do a Sound Recorder check to make sure).

I'm still wondering if the problem might be more related to your internet connection. Not necessarily speed, but maybe some kind of MTU limit (ie UDP packet size) on your router or some other part of your connection. Here are a couple of other things to try:

- Hold the chat key down for about 30-60 seconds, watch for any flickering of the chat icon with your name next to it.

- Tap the key chat key rapidly with varying rates of speed. Watch for flickering of the chat icon. The goal of this step is to try and capture very short sequences of audio.

Will do Vice, I'll have a close look at how my callsign will behave. Suffice to say Marvin is not seeing it so I dunno if a connection problem will be seen in local.

The router is the same I've ever used and nothing has changed in the config. Hardware firewall is deactivated so it shouldnt be an issue.

@Marvin: whatever it's done on my PC it's not me who does it. I have a higly trusted little shop that has always supplied me and that has always got my full trust. ;)
