ok, you can now run these tests on Remula One as it has been updated for the new voice chat system. Anyone who wants to test it will need to update to the 1.191 build a few posts back, otherwise the voice system will still work with 1.188, it might just sound a little strange.

Situation Update
I logged on to the R1 server prior to Denny and was told that, when I transmitted, all anyone heard was static. So I used keyboard chat until Denny logged on to confirm my problem (Denny was coming in, loud but slightly broken, on both channels). So I exited the game, uninstalled all my mods (tyvm, auto-installer), and restarted the game.
Solved my problem. A little tweaking on Denny's part and maybe he won't be coming in broken anymore.

Excellent, glad it's working. The broken behavior can be anything from stuttering packet rates to low memory performance. Considering his distance, it may be more related to network behavior intermittently delaying the delivery of those packets, creating some gaps. However, if the stuttering is pretty consistent (that is, the samples are spaced apart pretty evenly and not varying the rate of stutter), then it might be more related to memory performance and delays in converting the sound samples from memory into the packets.

Well, Denny often has the same problem when using BA's TeamSpeak unless he sets "wave" in the TS options.

Good luck. Last time I had computer components shipped to Sardinia, Italian Customs charged me a small fortune.

The odd thing about Italian regulations is nobody reads them. Customs officials probably flip a coin ... many of which have two heads. Ask ten officials what to charge and you'll almost certainly get ten different answers. From post: 98273, Topic: tid=6656, author=Eclipse wrote:According to Italian customs, if the parcel does not exceed 45 Euros there is no extra tariff. It seems the trick to sending stuff to Italy is not to insure the parcel, as they count cost of shipping and the insurance in the 45 Euro cost.

I know I have two DIMM so if the MB has 2 slots, they're full.... but I think it has 4 slots so there should be room for more.
If I don't get a new system I'll surely get some more memory and probably HD room since I've pretty much filled mine. That would not force me to do a full system rebuild since all datas will be copied as they are and placed on the new HD or better I'll put the new HD as secondary.
I'm still pointing for the new machine though...
