ALT+TAB don\'t work (Win 7)

Post by zijulo »

Hello,

I have a problem returning on windows 7 (64 bits) desktop with Alt+Tab. The game don't minimises itself. Other programs are well put in front of the screen but the mouse is still moving in Evochron and I can't use others programs until I close Evochron. Do you have the same problem ?

Thanks for your help

I answered this already somewhere else, but if you press the "windows" key and "D" at the same time, that should return you to the desktop and minimize the game.

Yes but Evochron restores itself at any mouse clic on other programs, preventing all other programs to be usable.

You can try running with the ingame setting to Optimized(WM)

I tried all settings, but it don't work. But it seems I found a way to resolve the problem. I don't remember exactly the key I pressed aften the Alt+TAB (Mayby I pressed Alt a second time), but now I have the mouse in other programs. Very strange !

If we could press the escape key to pause reality, it would be no problem sending sms while driving a car. But I don't find escape key in my car :P

I've a different problem, but it's still at alt-tab and w7 x64.

The program crashes every time it loses focus - this includes alt-tab or simply a wrong click (at the side) and since it's a crash, bye-bye save game.

It'd be nice if this could be fixed.

To use alt-tab, make sure you run in an 'Optimized' screen mode in the Options menu, not a 'Locked' mode. If you can't alt-tab in an Optimized mode, then the problem likely rests with the drivers you are using for your 3D video card.

Ahha. Ok that worked. Many thanks.

I was running in eyefinity, and have tried to make things "work" - to no avail. I have since created a simple 3-screen desktop layout and run the game on one screen only. Altho now I run regularly into the problem where the mouse wanders outside of the game screen area, and lose focus. Usually in the middle of a battle...great.

Sadly the game is stretched, and looks very bad in 5760x1200 eyefinity mode - I could not fix the aspect ratio in any way. It just looks crap. :(

You can change the aspect ratio with the game, if you like. Change the sixth value from the bottom in the sw.cfg file to a value from 0 to a value above around 1.0 up to around 5.0 or so. That will adjust the aspect ratio and you should be able to find one that works better with that kind of resolution.

nice, I'll try that.
the monitors are standard 16:10 ( 1920x1200 ) so the overall ratio should be 48:10 - or 4.8:1
(I'm guessing it maybe 4.8 on that setting?)

thanks again :)

Edit:
Yes, it works like a charm! Beautiful!
