For those like me with that crappy TrackIR pro clip, be aware that there is a backlog of about 3-4 weeks for orders. If anyone is interesting in buying one, here's a word of advice invest in some electrical tape and wrap the LED hinge tight. THEY WILL BREAK! Lot of users (Myself included have experienced it). I luckily wrapped mine a long time ago as to not break the wires.

English is not my natural language, so if you forgive me to ask, which part you advise to use the tape? Is it A or B part?

I too think that clip is too fragile for the price. Since the first time I've touched it I had the impression somehow that it would break sooner or later.

"I use the clip on for my hat and it works fine".....the one pictured above looks cool but I thought it looked a bit fragile so I decided to use the clip on for my hat. Thanks for the info Ohsirus ;)

The dreaded break point, used to be a thread on their forums discussing it and a few users got free replacements. I was going to see if they were still offering some kind of deal due to my patch job going limp.

In the end I just removed the tape and rewound it.

I have the hatclip also, but it was just not as smooth/responsive as the active LEDs, could be my room light.

With certain light conditions, the hat clip, it's not the best solution.
I've been using the clip pro for more than one year, and so far it's still intact. Even survived a fall. But there's that sense that it will break.

Looking thru the forums, I see that they have been helpful in getting them replaced (asking for Camera Serial number) before issuing RMA.

Yes I noticed too, pro clip gives better performance and more accurate results, especially at nite under low light conditions and front of a white wall in daylight etc...

I have both but using Pro clip, I don't like to wear cap and Pro clip plugged in to the side of the headset is more confortable imo...

Thank you for valuable infos, I am ready to wrap it up...

No problem, I was planning on getting a replacement, but at 30+ dollars for new or I'd have to send my old one in, I just decided to rewrap. Wish I Would have done it along time ago, but I recently just got back on my flight sim kick and can't do without it. Luckily I didn't get the broke wires some did. The wires are really thin. Not to say anything bad about TrackIr, looking at their forums they do help people out.

Fully agree with you. They are always trying to help.
And above all, TrackIR works very well. It's an essential addon for any flight simmer.
One side question. Can we zoom the cockpit panels in Everchron with TrackIR?

Renegades, Legends and Mercenary has 3d cockpits and 6dof trackir support.

Supported games list from site of naturalpoint:

http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/03- ... light.html

But I couldn't find Mercenary in "coming soon" list. Works well...

Personally I like the FOV of Evochron legends with TrackIR, Its kind of a few feet back from the dash.

I'm at work right now. But I've the impression that's already on the game list in TrackIR software. I'll confirm later.

EDIT: Yes Evochron Mercenary it's already in the game list, ready to be used.

 Any further back and many of us would need a telescope to read the "dash" data displays. "A few feet back" indeed! Talk about giving the eagle-eyed whipper-snappers a ten-point advantage.

LOL....Marv......:P:P:P:P:P, Yeh, I wish there was more freedom in zooming in and out by moving your head closer to the dashboard with Track IR in Legends. It seems to be fixed at a few feet though and if there is any zooming in or out by head movement it is very marginal..........;)

I've played a little with Legends, while I'm waiting for Mercenary. But I didn't really pay much attention to it. It was only a 5 minute testing to see what was the feeling of the sim with my gear. I got the same impression you have, Maarschalk. A little more zoom would be great. But probably it's not possible.

On the Natural Point Support Forums there was somebody who ran a screw through the hole where the clip rotates and glued it inside the piece with the IR emitters. They then used a nut on the screw to tighten the pieces together. It makes for a much stronger connection while still allowing it to rotate.

I did a similar mod, only without the nut and using a shorter screw. Mine no longer rotates, though, but it's fixed in the position that works best for me. Of course, my trackclip pro is still covered in plenty of tape, as I've had mine for years and it's coming apart in several places.

Edit:

Not the best picture, but here's my modified Track Clip Pro with superglued allen screw:
