Hi there,
I've been trying to get some custom music working with my game but so far no luck.
Maybe someone here can tell me what I'm doing wrong.
So here is where I'm at:
I converted the music files from mp3 to .wav 16 bit 44k stereo.
I named the intro song evmenumusic.wav and I named all the other tracks musicx.wav (x being the track numbers 1 thru 24)
Than I put all the tracks into a folder named music in my installation folder.
This doesn't seem to work at all.
Do I need to create subfolders for the menu music and the ingame music?
Please, any help would be appreciated;)

When you say 'doesn't work at all', do you mean they don't play at all or the default music still plays? If the default music still plays, then it probably just means the folder isn't named correctly or is in the wrong location. Posting an image of file explorer showing the location of the folder and music files might help determine what is wrong.

Yep, the music folder probably is in the wrong location......but Vice can confirm that with your posted image of file explorer

Doesn't work, meaning default music is still playing.
I'm not sure what you mean by image of file explorer ?
The path I installed them to is: C:\\sw3dg\\EvochronLegends\\music just like it says in the readme for the customization kit.

As long as that is also the install folder location with the EvochronLegends.exe file inside, it should be working. I'd suggest checking the basics, like making sure there aren't space characters in folder/file names.

Hello Vice thanks for the reply!
I double checked everything and it should be working. The folder is in the right place and is named correctly.
Maybe the music files are not converted correctly? Do they have to be .wav? I set them to .wav 16 bit 44k stereo Is that correct?
Edit: Problem solved!
I was naming my tracks "evmenumusic.wav" after renaming it to "evmenumusic" without the .wav at the end it works.
Thanks to all who offered their help!:)

Ah yes, that's a good tip. Make sure not to add in an additional file extension when one is already included. If a file is named evmenumusic.wav.wav, it won't match. And file explorer generally hides the actual file extension for known types. The same thing has come up with text files in mods also, a user will add a '.txt' extension when Notepad already includes it (so the file winds up with a name like hudtext.txt.txt instead of just hudtext.txt).
