EvochronLegends.exe not responding after startup

Hi,

I have scanned the forum for my problem, but have not found a similar post.

I have purchased Evochron Legends on Impulse. When i start the game my screen just goes black and nothing happens. After waiting a minute or so i tried clicking my mouse, and the screen goes grey, accompanied by a 'EvochronLegends.exe not responding' message from Vista. This problem persists after several reboots and turning off all of my apps running in the background.

I am running it from impulse of Vista 64. I have a HD4870 Card with latest catalist drivers. I have enough CPU, GPU and memory to play any new game of max settings.

Any ideas? I'd really like to start playing the game.

This seems to happen sometimes when the game can't access disk resources it needs (namely the folder and files required to store setting information). Try this, download the game from this location:

http://www.starwraith.com/evochronlegends/downloads.htm

Then install it using the default path, then launch the game and test.

Thanx all for the quick response and the welcomes, seems like this game has a good community going ^^.

Have given it a good few tries, but not getting past the black screen. The game just doesnt seem able to take its next step.

Your advice sounds like it might work Vice, will try that one tonight (its 18:45 over here in Holland). If it doesnt i will send u a sys32 report.

Again tnx for the response, getting them to run properly is half the fun of any PC game after all ^^.

Ok tnx Vice, game is running fine now.

For other users getting the same problem running the game from impulse client:

I copied the registration key from impulse to a text file.

Then uninstalled the gama,

Got the installer from the Starwraith website and installed from there to the default directory.

Then used my Impulse serial key to unlock the full game.

Runs fine now, see you all in-game.

Actually, the problem was fixed before we hijacked the thread ... as you, yourself, confirmed:

Vice can fix anything except a broken heart... but he's working on that too!

Edited for clarification ... and to emphasize what was probably a Yoda moment on MM's part.

LOL....MMagio... do not take life to seriously...By the way the Technical problem was resolved with help from Vice, and Vice did reply to the original requester...So we all reverted to try to give Marvin the Robot some technical support for his artificial broken heart......

Geeeeeez, you seem to need some technical help for your artificial Yoda moments....
